The Colegio de Laurel (CDL) community came together today as our employees and students actively participated in the Blood Letting Activity organized by the Laurel Rural Health Unit, in partnership with Batangas Medical Center.

With sleeves rolled up and hearts ready to serve, our CDL employees and students generously took part in this meaningful initiative, offering not only their time and support, but a precious gift that can help save lives--- contributing to the collection of 162 bags of blood.

This activity is a beautiful reminder that community service begins with compassion and collective action. Every donor, every volunteer, and every helping hand contributes to a healthier and more caring Laurel community.

ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON SEPTEMBER 10

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 135, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on September 10, 2026, in anticipation of continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the cumulative effects of prolonged rainfall:

📍 Pampanga
📍 Zambales
📍 Batangas
📍 Cavite
📍 Laguna
📍 Rizal

📍 Oriental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Localized cancellation or suspension of classes in other areas may be implemented by their respective Local Chief Executives.
