During Week 6 of the 279th NROTCU-Dalta, cadets and cadettes focused on honing their skills in preparation for the upcoming ROTC Event (LAGTI) scheduled for April 27, 2023. The day's agenda was packed with various activities aimed at enhancing their abilities, including rigorous training in knot tying, expanding their proficiency in first aid techniques, and mastering the assembly and disassembly of rifles. In the afternoon, the cadets and cadettes gathered at the Ernesto Palanca auditorium for the solemn and dignified color ceremony. With precision and reverence, they paid tribute to the national flag, symbolizing their commitment to duty and service. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the values upheld by the NROTCU-Dalta, instilling in each participant a sense of pride and responsibility as they continue their journey towards becoming future leaders in the military.
The 279th Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (NROTCU) at UPHSD-DALTA has officially declared a hiatus in activities for cadets during the upcoming Holy Week period, spanning from March 25th to March 31th. As part of the observance of this sacred time, all regular classes and training sessions will be suspended, allowing cadets the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the spiritual significance of Holy Week without the distraction of military duties. This decision reflects the unit's deep respect for religious observance and its recognition of the importance of providing cadets with dedicated time for personal reflection, family gatherings, and religious ceremonies.
Throughout Holy Week, cadets are encouraged to engage in meaningful practices aligned with their faith traditions, fostering a sense of reverence and connection to their spiritual beliefs. Last February 24, The 279th Naval Reserve Training Corps units embarked on their inaugural training day with the determination of seasoned sailors.With the sun casting a golden hue over the horizon, they commenced their journey with the solemnity and precision of the afternoon colors ceremony, paying homage to tradition and unity.
As the First training day for the Military Science 2 progressed, eager recruits delved into immersive orientation sessions, absorbing the ethos and expectations of naval service. Engaging lectures provided invaluable insights into maritime history, strategy, and the principles of leadership, laying the foundation for future officers.
Amidst the salty breeze and echoing commands, recruits honed their skills in close order drills, cultivating discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail. Each synchronized movement echoed the spirit of camaraderie and commitment that defines naval service.
