Saraza Music Center advisory (Saturday, November 8, 2025)

Due to the impending strong typhoon, the music center will be closed until further notice. In the meantime, music classes will be administered through online set-up provided that there will be no interruptions in the internet traffic and electricity due to the effects of the typhoon. Rest assured that the administration will be constantly communicating to notify the students of the lessons for the day.

🎶🇵🇭 Successful LCM Face-to-Face Exams in Manila & Bataan! 🇵🇭🎶

More than two weeks ago, we proudly concluded another round of the London College of Music Examinations here in the Philippines.

This year was extra special as, through our partnership agreement and with the kind support of Dean Maria Alexandra Chua, PhD, Former Dean Antonio Africa, PhD, and Ms. Deng Cuartero, the examinations were officially held at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music – Recital Hall 2. 🙏

We also had the wonderful opportunity to bring the exam to Bataan, where students and scholars of the Jose De Piro Foundation, led by Fr. Joseph Cremona, MSSP, took their face-to-face exams. Their dedication and passion for music truly reflect the foundation’s mission of nurturing talent and transforming lives through education.

During this period, it was not only our duty to organise the exams but also a privilege to host Examiner Mr. Stuart Wheaton from London, sharing with him the warmth of Filipino hospitality—great food, a city tour, and time for relaxation.

🌟 Congratulations to all students and our partner centres who took the face-to-face exams in both Manila and Bataan! As always, we are proud to announce a 100% passing rate for all our dedicated candidates. Your hard work and passion for music continue to inspire us all.

A few weeks ago, during the LCM exam sessions in Doha Qatar at IAID. Mr. David Saraza had the distinct honour of collaborating with Professor. John Howard on various important discussions regarding the LCM Exams. Dr. Howard and Mr. David explored the development of LCME in Asia and the news about new exciting possible opportunities for our centre's development and expansion outside Indonesia and the Philippines.

Mr. David Saraza - Founder of Big Ben International Academy (Saraza Music Education Centre) together with Mr. Uriel Patrick Saraza - the Academy and LCM Philippine Office Manager, worked together to personally facilitate an official meeting with Professor John Howard, the London College of Music Exams Ambassador and long-time director, and Professor Antonio Africa, the Dean of the UST Conservatory of Music.

Following the official courtesy call and meeting, we proceeded with our scheduled meet-up and seminar for our Philippine LCM Sub-Centre Representatives and music teachers. The day was immensely productive, with both Professor Howard and Professor Africa demonstrating their strong support for the growth and development of LCME in the Philippines.

Mr. David Saraza, who serves as the official regional representative of the London College of Music in the Philippines and Jakarta Indonesia has been instrumental in bringing the Exam Board to the country over a decade ago. Since then, he has successfully guided Filipino music professionals in achieving international music qualifications and professional diplomas.
