Makiling Aikido International

Makiling Aikido International Makiling Aikido International Inc. is an independent non-profit organization. HISTORY OF MAKILING AIKIDO International Inc.

The name Makiling was taken from the mountain MT. MARIA MAKILING located at Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. Xavier Baylon and Manolo Villegas were friends in the Makati Aikido Club. Manolo Villegas established Los Baños Aikido dojo in 1991. Xavier Baylon established Makiling Aikido, Southside Dojo at Las Piñas City, Philippines a year after. As practitioners at the Southside Dojo grew and started to produce black belts, Xavier Baylon saw the need to legitimize his group and named it Makiling Aikido International Incorporated. Expanding ever since, Makiling Aikido International has been training and producing Yudanshas who have established their own dojos and propagated Aikido locally and abroad.
