Another House Bill 🙏🙏🙏

Masaya po tayong ibahagi na na-file natin ngayong araw, sa mismong International Day of Persons with Disabilities, ang House Bill No. 6577 or “Autism Care Act”. ☺️

This bill seeks to establish a National Comprehensive Program for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of autism in the Philippines. It also creates the Autism Council of the Philippines under the Department of Health (DOH), which will serve as the inter-agency, multisectoral body tasked to coordinate national policies, promote public awareness, strengthen family support systems, and ensure the delivery of inclusive programs and services for children and adults with autism.

This measure likewise mandates PhilHealth coverage for all Persons with Autism (PWAs), guaranteeing access to essential medical, rehabilitative, and therapeutic care.

As a mother and grandmother of children on the spectrum, I carry this advocacy not just in legislation, but in my heart. We hope for the swift and meaningful passage of this bill because every Filipino, including every PWA, deserves the chance to live a full, healthy, and dignified life.

Yes to Autism Care Act and a Philippines where no Person with Autism is left behind!
