Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 20, 2026:

📍 Abra
📍 Benguet
📍 Ilocos Norte
📍 Ilocos Sur
📍 La Union
📍 Pangasinan
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Pampanga
📍 Tarlac
📍 Zambales
📍 Batangas
📍 Cavite
📍 Laguna
📍 Rizal
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes and learning continuity measures at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Suspendido ang pasok sa lahat ng antas sa pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa Lungsod ng Las Piñas ngayong araw, August 17, 2026, Monday, dahil sa masamang panahong dulot ng habagat.

Pinapayuhan ang lahat na mag-ingat at manatiling nakaantabay sa mga opisyal na anunsyo mula sa ating lokal na pamahalaan.

Ang Pag-akyat sa Langit ng Mahal na Birheng Maria (o Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) ay isang mahalagang paniniwala ng Simbahang Katolika. Itinuturo nito na sa pagtatapos ng kanyang buhay sa lupa, si Maria ay iniakyat ng Diyos sa langit nang katawan at kaluluwa.

Noong ika-5 siglo, ipinagdiriwang na ng mga Kristiyano ang kapistahang nauugnay sa pagpanaw at pagluwalhati kay Maria. Sa Silangang Simbahan ito ay tinawag na Dormition o "Pagkakatulog ng Mahal na Birhen." Nang lumaon, ang kapistahan ay naging laganap sa buong Simbahan at ipinagdiriwang tuwing Agosto 15.

Noong Nobyembre 1, 1950, opisyal na ipinahayag ni Papa Pio XII ang Assumption bilang isang dogma ng Simbahang Katolika sa dokumentong Munificentissimus Deus. Kanyang ipinahayag:

"Ang Kalinis-linisang Ina ng Diyos, ang laging Birheng Maria, matapos niyang ganapin ang takbo ng kanyang buhay sa lupa, ay iniakyat sa makalangit na kaluwalhatian nang katawan at kaluluwa.
