To our newly crowned champion: today, we celebrate a victory that was forged long before you made your winning move on the board.
Winning a chess tournament isn't just about tactical brilliance or finding the sharpest continuation. It is about the early morning study sessions, the endless puzzle solving, and the courage to learn from every single mistake. Your hard work, discipline, and unwavering dedication have paid off in the grandest way possible.
You played with the heart of a true warrior and the mind of a grandmaster. On behalf of AGM Marc Paraguya and the entire ChessMe8 family, I want you to know how immensely proud we are of you. You didn't just win a title; you demonstrated what happens when talent meets relentless grit.
Let this trophy be a reminder: every move you make on the board—and in life—matters. Enjoy this moment. You earned every bit of it. But remember, a champion’s journey never stops. Keep your hunger, stay humble, and keep striving for greatness.
Congratulations, Champion! The future of chess is yours.

Balancing the Board: The Journey of a Player and Coach
To sit at the chessboard as both an active competitor and a dedicated mentor is to live two lives on a single battlefield.
It is a relentless balance. As a player, your focus is singular—your eyes are locked on the 64 squares, calculating variations, anticipating threats, and carrying the personal weight of every single move. As a coach, your focus multiplies exponentially. You spend hours analyzing positions, breaking down opening theories, building your students’ confidence, and carrying the emotional weight of every game they play. When they lose, your heart aches for them; when they win, you celebrate their brilliance as if it were your own.
Juggling both roles is far from easy. It demands exhausting discipline. You must transition seamlessly from fighting your own intense over-the-board battles to giving every ounce of your energy, patience, and wisdom to your students. It means studying twice as hard, preparing twice as long, and remaining steady even when fatigue sets in.
Yet, behind every grueling hour of preparation lies an unwavering passion.
We don't do this simply because we love to win; we do it because chess is a lifelong journey of growth, character, and truth. Playing keeps the competitive fire alive in our veins—it keeps us sharp, humble, and grounded. Coaching allows us to pass that torch forward, watching young minds discover their potential, master their focus, and learn that every setback is just a lesson in disguise.
To every player who also stands as a mentor: keep fighting on the board and inspiring off it. Your dedication shapes not only the champions of today, but the thinkers, leaders, and resilient minds of tomorrow. Keep calculating, keep grinding, and play every move with passion.
