In a massive display of logic and problem-solving prowess, our students recently showcased their mental agility in the 2026 International Kangaroo Mathematics Competition (IKMC). Held virtually from March 21 to 27, the event saw a staggering turnout of over 10,400 participants nationwide, making it one of the most competitive years in the program's history.

Leading the charge for the school were two exceptional students who secured Silver Awards, placing them in the upper echelon of young mathematicians across the country. Christopher Carilla (9-Fairness), mentored by Mr. Romano F. Palisoc Jr., and Jhillian Andaya (9-Faith), under the guidance of Mr. Gil P. Asuncion, both delivered stellar performances to bring home the silver.

Beyond the silver podium, the school celebrated a wave of Merit Awardees who demonstrated high-level proficiency in the "Kangaroo" style of mathematics—a format renowned for focusing on creative logic rather than simple rote memorization.

On February 4, 2026, Las Piñas CAA National High School was honored to welcome officials from the Schools Division Office of Las Piñas City for a Division Demonstration Teaching session. Mrs. Maria Liza P. Placencia served as the Demo Teacher, presenting her expertise on the topic: Translating Verbal Phrases into Algebraic Expressions using Manipulative Devices.

Through the strategic use of concrete manipulatives, Mrs. Placencia demonstrated how to effectively bridge the gap between linguistic phrases and algebraic symbols. The session provided a prime example of pedagogical competence, allowing the visiting officials to witness firsthand the innovative teaching strategies and best practices in lesson delivery that align with the K to 12 Curriculum.
