LEVEL 5: Putting It All Together 🥁

June is here. Halfway done with summer, and we've made it to the final level.

This time, we're combining everything from the previous exercises:

✓ 8th note grooves
✓ 16th note kick patterns
✓ Open hi-hat barks
✓ Ghost notes

Same format:
• 10 grooves
• 4 bars each
• Continuous play
• Steady tempo
• No stopping

Individually, each technique isn't too difficult.

The challenge is making them work together while keeping the groove steady.

That's what real drumming is.

Not just learning individual techniques,
but being able to apply them naturally without losing time, feel, or consistency.

This is the same approach we use with our students.

Master the basics.
Build one skill at a time.
Then gradually put the pieces together.

Just consistent practice and a lot of grooves.

Rocky, one of our best students, demonstrates it with ease, but he worked a year to get to this point. There are no shortcuts. We are proud of you.

A big shoutout to our students who demonstrated every exercise in this series. Seeing them progress from the fundamentals to this level is exactly why we do what we do.

Palo lang ng palo!

What a special day for us. 🥁❤️

Here are some moments from last weekend.

Thank you to all the students and families who spent the afternoon with us. Seeing our drummers perform, support each other, and simply enjoy being together made that day unforgettable. More than lessons, we hope to keep building a community where our students can grow in confidence, friendship, and love for music.

Special thanks as well to our host and photographer for helping us bring the event to life and capture these memories for the Pumapalo family. 🙌📸

It's not about how many students we teach. It's about how many stay. See you all at the next Townhall! Palo lang ng palo!

ALSO We rented out the the whole clubhouse including pool and basketball court for the whole day. Everyone is free to use the facilities from 10:00AM - 8:00PM to make the whole experience a family day outside. We hope to see everyone's smiles this Saturday! See you there!

Hello Students! 🥁

We’re finally excited to announce the next Pumapalo Townhall happening this May 10, 2026.

This gathering is for our students and their families to come together, spend time as a community, and celebrate the progress everyone has been making in the studio. Some of our drummers will also be stepping up to perform and share their music with the Pumapalo community.

The Townhall is something we started so our students can get to know each other beyond their regular lessons. It’s a chance to build friendships, support one another, and enjoy the journey of learning music together.

We hope to see many of you there!

If you would like to perform during the showcase, you may register through the link below. Performance slots will be limited.

5 LEVELS OF GROOVE

LEVEL 4: Ghost Notes 🥁

Alex has been with the us for about 4 months now. His desire to learn and get better really is amazing. Always volunteering in videos and challenges. Amazing job in this drill Alex!

Same format:
• 10 grooves
• 4 bars each
• Continuous play
• Steady tempo
• No stopping

Ghost notes are the softer hits in between your main strokes. Similar to level 2 wherein we focus on 16th notes kicks with your right foot, ghost notes are 16th note strokes with your left hand (or right if left handed).

This is where your dynamics matter. Volume matters. Not everything should be loud. Not everything should be equal. You start to learn how to balance your hands, what to highlight, and what to keep subtle. It adds depth and texture to your groove.

And like the rest of the series, one of our students is guiding you through it.

Level 5 we'll put everything together. 😁
