Origins of The Triskelion Symbol

MISCONCEPTION:
We do not own the The Triskelion symbol nor did we create it.

The word "Triskelion" is derived from the greek word "triskeles" meaning "Three legs". The first recorded Triskelion symbols were in 500bc in what is now on rocks and cave walls in Ireland. The triskelion or triskele plays a big part in the celtic/irish culture.

The Triskelion or the three legs emanating from a common point has many interpretations and it differs throughout the different cultures and mythologies throughout the years. Some of these interpretations include:

Father, Mother and child.
Life, death and rebirth.
Past, present and future.
Power, intellect and love.
Creation, preservation and destruction.

Tau Gamma Phi adopted the Triskelion symbol as its official Seal or logo and even adopted the word "Triskelion" to signify the members of Tau Gamma Phi.

For us, The Triskelion symbol is the conglomeration or accumulation of the three dynamic forces (Fortis, Voluntas and Fraternitas).
It is also emblematic of the member standing on two legs and the tenets and codes of conduct as our third leg. That's why "Quocunque Jeceris Stabit." Whichever way you throw the Triskelion, It shall always stand.
