๐ŸŒฑ GABAY: An Avenue for Students to Become

Not every student will shine through academics. Not everyone wants to be an officer, compete, or lead from the front.

Some want to build. ๐ŸŒฑ
Some excel in sports. ๐Ÿƒ
Some discover their potential in business. โ˜•
Some are good at organizing people. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ
Some simply want to serve. ๐Ÿค
Some want to broadcast. ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

GABAY was envisioned as the representative voice of SHS students before the SHS Coordinatorโ€”a student-led body that listens to student concerns and ideas, and recommends programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) that respond to their needs, interests, and aspirations.

Through this structure, students are given a meaningful role in shaping the life of the SHS Department, rather than simply participating in activities planned for them.

But at the heart of GABAY is something bigger.

An interest can become an opportunity.
An opportunity can become an experience.
An experience can become a contribution.
And through these experiences, students develop skills, confidence, purpose, and capability.

GABAY is an avenue for students to become.

Because education is not only about discovering what students knowโ€”it is also about creating spaces where they can discover what they can become. ๐Ÿ’š

PUBLIC PROPERTY IS FILIPINO PROPERTY.
Itโ€™s not government money. Itโ€™s our money.

Every classroom, chair, facility, road, and public project represents resources collected from the people and entrusted to government for the benefit of everyone.
When we damage, waste, steal, or neglect public property, we are not simply hurting the government. We are taking away resources and opportunities that could have served someone else.

Public property is a public trust.

As young leaders, let us learn to: ๐ŸŒฑ Care for what is entrusted to us.
๐Ÿค Respect what belongs to everyone.
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Protect public resources.
๐Ÿ“ข Speak up against waste and misuse.
Because responsible citizenship begins with understanding that what belongs to everyone is everyone's responsibility.

Today, we celebrate Vladimir Duldol, President of the GABAY Colors Unitโ€”an auxiliary organization of the GABAY Council, established through the initiative of the GABAY Press Information Officer S.Y. 2025-2026.

The Colors Unit gives our student leaders another avenue to practice discipline, responsibility, service, and pride, especially through ceremonial duties, color-bearing, and supporting the orderly conduct of GABAY activities.

Vladimir, may you continue to lead the Colors Unit with composure and purpose, and carry not only the colors, but the standards and values they represent. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

After the successful conduct of the SHS Mini-Park Rehabilitation Project, the officers earned their right to wear their uniform.

Presenting the new GABAY Council uniform for the GABAY Batch Stewards โ€™26, headed by SHS Department Governor Mona Liza Tuhod Lingating.

Like last year, the appeal for a uniform was initially delayed by the adviser, pending proof that the officers had earned it.

They did.

The expressive maroon was the uniform of the GABAY Batch Builders โ€™25, headed by SHS Department Governor Roel Cantol.

๐Ÿ‘‘ CONGRATULATIONS, BOARD MEMBER RIAMAE SETIT, FOR BEING THE MISS LINGGO NG KABATAAN 2026 AND FOR WEARING SERVICE AS A CROWN! ๐Ÿ‘‘

When I arrived at school yesterday morning, I was surprised to see you still sweeping and helping rehabilitate the SHS Mini-Park. I jokingly told you to go home and have your beauty restโ€”and even teased you that your handler might blame us if you lost! ๐Ÿ˜‚

But you simply laughed and kept going. Your call time was 9:30 AM, yet you still showed up at 7:30 AM to serve with your fellow GABAY Council officers.

That moment says so much about the young woman we have come to know: you don't simply show up when there's a spotlight; you show up when there is work to be done.

Now, you wear the crown of Miss Linggo ng Kabataan of the entire municipality. But for us, the crown only reflects what we had already seenโ€”a young woman who leads, serves, takes responsibility, and builds with others. You wear the crown after the service, not instead of it. ๐Ÿ‘‘๐ŸŒฑ

Congratulations as well to your sponsor, handlers, trainer, mentors, family, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to help you reach this moment. This crown is also a reflection of your guidance, support, and belief in her.

Before the crown, there was service.
Before the stage, there was purpose.
And now, let the crown become another opportunity to serve.
