๐Ÿ“ข Building a Healthier School Community: Supporting Our Educator-Mothers ๐Ÿคฑโœจ

A truly healthy learning institution doesnโ€™t just focus on student wellnessโ€”it supports the health, well-being, and dignity of the dedicated staff who guide our learners every day! ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ’™

The Teachers and Administrative Staff of Gun-ob Elementary School recently gathered in the school conference room for an insightful seminar on "Breastfeeding Basics: Supporting Mothers and Healthy Children."

Special thanks to our health unit facilitators sir Donnie Ray I. Mondala, DepEd Nurse II, Ms. Jesyl V. Sayson, DepEd Nurse II, and Ms. Jayziel P. Sumalinog, DepEd Nurse II

Why Support for Nursing Teachers Mattersโ“

Teacher Well-Being & Retention: Balancing classroom duties with early motherhood is challenging. Providing proper space, break times, and encouragement lowers stress and helps keep our great educators thriving.

Healthier Families, Healthier Schools: Supporting breastfeeding strengthens infant immunity, leading to fewer sick days for working parents and happier, healthier families.

Leading by Example: When a school actively models empathy and health advocacy for its staff, it creates a compassionate culture that directly benefits our entire student body.

How We Can Take Action Togetherโ“

1๏ธโƒฃ Normalize & Support: Foster an open, stigma-free culture where nursing mothers feel fully supported in managing their health needs.

2๏ธโƒฃ Provide Dedicated Spaces: Maintain safe, private, and clean spaces within the school where teacher-mothers can comfortably nurse or express milk.

3๏ธโƒฃ Advocate for Supportive Policies: Champion practical break schedules and access to proper amenities for storage.

Investing in the health of our teachers and staff is an investment in the future of our entire school. Letโ€™s continue working together to make Gun-ob Elementary School a supportive, healthy environment for all! ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒฟโœจ Capturing the Beauty of Nature Inside the Toilet Rooms :
Turning an Ordinary Space into a Refreshing Sanctuary โœจ๐ŸŒฟ

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, clean, and conducive classroom environment, a toilet room beautification initiative was undertaken to transform an ordinary space into a refreshing nature-inspired area. Through the incorporation of greenery, floral accents, and creative dรฉcor, the facility was enhanced to promote cleanliness, comfort, and environmental awareness.

This initiative highlights the importance of providing learners and stakeholders with well-maintained and welcoming facilities that support health, safety, and well-being. By creating a pleasant and organized environment, we encourage shared responsibility in preserving cleanliness and fostering a positive atmosphere within the school community.

Indeed, this project demonstrates that even the simplest spaces can be transformed into beautiful, safe, and inspiring environments through creativity, teamwork, and care. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’š

In line with our commitment to improving the foundational skills of every learner, Gun-ob Elementary School, under the leadership of our school principal, ma'am Arlene T. Sumalinog, has launched its Literacy and Numeracy Enrichment Program to provide additional learning support for learners in reading, writing, and mathematics.

As part of the initiative, a dedicated learning space was prepared where learners from Grades 1 to 3 gather with their respective class advisers for focused literacy and numeracy sessions. The program aims to address learning gaps through targeted instruction, engaging activities, and continuous guidance tailored to the learners' needs.

The Literacy and Numeracy Enrichment Program reflects the school's dedication to creating meaningful learning opportunities and ensuring that every learner is given the support needed to strengthen essential academic skills. As the program continues in the coming weeks, teachers, parents, and the school community remain united in nurturing confident readers, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners.
