Hazing has no place in any organization, school, or community. 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝟏𝟏𝟎𝟓𝟑, also known as the 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟖, all forms of hazing and violent initiation rites are strictly prohibited and punishable by law. This legislation was created to protect students and young people from physical harm, psychological trauma, and even loss of life caused by dangerous traditions disguised as “bonding” activities.

‎True leadership, brotherhood, and sisterhood are built on respect, trust, and shared values, not fear or suffering. Every student deserves to feel safe, valued, and protected in their journey toward growth and success. By understanding the law and standing firmly against hazing, we help create a campus culture where dignity comes first and no one is pressured to endure pain just to belong.

January 24th marks the International Day of Education, a day dedicated to the transformative power of learning. This year’s theme, “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨-𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧,” highlights a vital shift: moving from teaching for the youth to learning with the youth.

Education is no longer a one-way street. By involving young minds in the design of curricula and the evolution of classrooms, we ensure that learning remains relevant, dynamic, and inclusive. When students are co-creators, they become active stakeholders in their own success and the progress of their communities.

Today, we celebrate the creativity and courage of young people worldwide who are pushing for a more equitable and forward-thinking educational landscape. Let’s commit to listening to their voices and valuing their agency as we build a more sustainable future.
