Students from Grade 12-Diligence of Northwestern University Senior High School recently watched a compelling film documentary entitled “Food Delivery”, which shed light on the struggles of local Filipino fishermen and the challenges faced by the Philippine Coast Guard in defending territorial waters against Chinese vessels.

The documentary presented real-life accounts of fishermen whose livelihoods have been affected by maritime disputes in the West Philippine Sea. It highlighted not only the economic hardships they endure but also their courage and resilience in protecting the country’s marine resources.

After the viewing, students engaged in meaningful discussions about national sovereignty, livelihood protection, and environmental sustainability, connecting the film’s message to real-world issues of justice and peace—values upheld by Northwestern University.

To commemorate the event, the class had the honor of taking group photos with Northwestern University President, Atty. Ferdinand S. Nicolas, marking a memorable moment of learning and unity.

The experience encouraged 12-Diligence students to reflect on their roles as young citizens who can advocate for awareness, responsibility, and patriotism in addressing national and global challenges.

𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐈-𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄:

“𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐆𝐨 𝐅𝐥𝐲!” 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Tunay ngang nagliyab ang pakpak ng Red Mockingjay sa natapos na Panagwatwat 2025 noong Setyembre 18–19 kung saan nakamit nila ang ikalawang puwesto sa overall ranking. Ang Red Mockingjay ay binubuo ng 12-Diligence at 12-Wisdom na mas kilala sa tandem na “Diliwise”.

Hindi lang laro ang pinatunayan nila—dala rin nila ang kasiyahan, sigla, at samahan. Sa bawat laban at bawat sigaw, paulit-ulit na umalingawngaw ang kanilang makabagbag-damdaming sigaw: “Diliwise, let’s go fly!”

Sa pagtatapos ng Panagwatwat 2025, naiwan ng Red Mockingjay ang marka ng tapang, kasayahan, at pagkakaisa—isang patunay na kahit second place, sila ay tunay na lumipad nang mataas.

𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐨: 𝟏𝟐-𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐁𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐚

Ipinamalas ng Grade 12–Diligence ang kanilang husay at talento sa ginanap na pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika matapos makapag-uwi ng mga parangal sa iba’t ibang patimpalak.

Sa Histowika Quizbee, nakamit nina Sanniel Julieanne Teruel at Ennaira Harla Dciey Estabillo ang Ikalawang Pwesto, patunay ng kanilang talino at dedikasyon sa pag-aaral ng kasaysayan at wika.

Samantala, sa larangan ng Folk Dance, dalawang tropeo ang naiuwi ng klase:
• 3rd Place sa Sayaw sa Bangko
• 1st Place sa Karatong

Muling pinatunayan ng mga Diligents na taglay nila ang talino at galing, kasabay ng masiglang pakikibahagi sa pagpapahalaga sa sariling wika at kultura.

𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐒𝐒 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐩! 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐖𝐔-𝐁𝐄𝐃 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦

The Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand of Grade 12 Diligence achieved a perfect record in the recently concluded screening for Northwestern University’s Basic Education Department (NWU-BED) school paper, with all five of its auditionees successfully earning editorial positions.

Kercy Kate Baloran was chosen as Column Writer for Balintataw, while Joanna Eve Carreon secured the same role for Balintataw and Foresight. Peggy Ann Castro will serve as Editorial Cartoonist for both publications, bringing creative visuals to accompany the articles. Ennaira Harla Dciey Estabillo earned her place as Editorial and Feature Writer for Balintataw and Foresight, demonstrating her versatility in both news and creative writing. Rounding out the group is Sanniel Julieanne Teruel, who will take on the roles of Feature Writer and Copyreading & Headline Writer for both publications.

The screening process tested writing proficiency, creativity, and editorial skills, making the 100% selection rate a remarkable accomplishment for the HUMSS strand. This success underscores the strand’s strong foundation in communication and critical thinking — skills essential to campus journalism.

With their combined talents in writing, visual storytelling, and editorial work, these HUMSS students are expected to contribute significantly to the voice, quality, and identity of NWU-BED’s publications in the coming school year.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭—𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟑 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝟒 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬!

The Northwestern University Basic Education Department successfully held its Nutrition Month Program, featuring four exciting contests: Nutri Jingle Competition, Cooking Festival, Fruit and Vegetable Carving, and Poster Slogan Making.

TVL students Ana Carmella Macadangdang and Gian Karl Castillo secured first place in the Fruit and Vegetable Carving contest. Their intricate creation, inspired by the alma mater, wowed the judges with both its craftsmanship and concept.

In the Poster Slogan Making category, HUMSS student Peggy Ann Castro claimed first place by powerfully conveying the message of the section’s chosen theme: Masustansyang Pagkain: Tulay sa Ginhawang Hangarin through her creative visual and slogan.

Meanwhile, Khiane Marc Agustin and Andrei Jeckaine Diza showcased culinary ingenuity in the Cooking Festival. Their refreshing cucumber longganisa canapé and shawarma longganisa earned them second place, impressing the judges with both presentation and nutritional value.

The Diligents’ strong performance in three out of four events proves that they are not only passionate about wellness, but also committed to excellence.
