COBE Celebrates Another International Research Publication
The College of Business Education (COBE) of Northwestern University (NWU) continues to strengthen its research excellence with another international publication by Prof. Eric S. Parilla, further demonstrating the college’s commitment to producing impactful and globally relevant scholarly work.
Prof. Parilla’s latest study, “Green Campus, Bright Future: How Carbon Footprint Disclosure Practices Shape Students’ Views on Northwestern University,” has been published in the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Studies (IJEASS), Volume 6, Issue 1 (July 2026). The peer-reviewed journal publishes international research on entrepreneurship, sustainability, business, accounting, finance, and related disciplines.
The research examined how carbon footprint disclosure practices, sustainability initiatives, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices influence students’ perceptions and enrollment decisions at Northwestern University. Drawing data from 2,195 students across different colleges, the study found that while students recognize NWU as an environmentally responsible institution, strengthening sustainability communication and carbon disclosure practices can further enhance the university’s green institutional image. The findings also revealed that a positive green institutional image significantly mediates the relationship between sustainability initiatives and students’ enrollment decisions.
This publication underscores COBE’s growing contribution to evidence-based research that addresses contemporary issues in sustainability, higher education, ESG, and institutional development. It also reflects the college’s dedication to generating research that supports informed decision-making and advances sustainable practices within educational institutions.
The achievement aligns with Northwestern University’s vision of fostering a vibrant research culture and expanding its international scholarly presence through quality publications. It likewise highlights COBE’s continuing efforts to produce research that not only contributes to academic discourse but also creates meaningful impact for universities, policymakers, and communities.
Northwestern University congratulates Prof. Eric S. Parilla and the College of Business Education for this significant milestone and looks forward to more internationally recognized research outputs that elevate the University’s reputation in the global academic community
