August 5, 2026 – Shamrock Elementary School successfully launched the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) 2026 at the school cafeteria, benefiting more than 380+ learners, including all Kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils, as well as identified SBFP recipients from Grades 2 to 6.

The launching featured the serving of nutritious meals consisting of chicken, mashed potatoes, and mushroom soup to support the health and nutritional needs of the learners.

The activity was made possible through the leadership and support of Mrs. Vrenie C. Pedro, School Principal, and Ms. Elaiza Mae Tinay, SBFP In-Charge, together with Mr. Eric M. Viernes, Mr. Jonas G. Salvador, KS1 Parent Volunteers, Grade Chairpersons, and all Shamrock Elementary School teachers.

The successful conduct of the program reflects the school's commitment to promoting the health, well-being, and academic success of its learners through collaborative efforts among school personnel, parents, and stakeholders.

Shamrock continues to strengthen its legacy of academic excellence as its young learners delivered an outstanding performance at the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) Final Round 2026, held at the National University of Singapore (NUS) from June 19–22, 2026.

Students Take Charge: Shamrock Elementary Trains for the "Big One"
LAOAG CITY — When the sirens wailed for the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, student leaders—not just teachers—were the ones calling the shots at Shamrock Elementary School.

In a powerful display of youth leadership, student representatives from the SELG, YES-O, and the Robotics Club spearheaded the safety simulation. Guided by their advisers and NDRRM coordinators, these young leaders directed the entire evacuation.

The student body responded with clockwork precision:

Duck, Cover, and Hold: Instantly executed as the alarm sounded.

Orderly Evacuation: Classrooms emptied smoothly, with students covering their heads as they filed out.

Zero Panic: The drills showed that safety protocols are fast becoming second nature to these kids.

With experts warning of the "Big One"—a devastating major earthquake—Shamrock Elementary is shifting from passive listening to active leading. By putting students in charge, the school isn't just running a drill; it is building a generation that knows exactly how to survive when the ground shakes.
