In line with the issues on flood control projects, the team spearheaded by their proud coach, Engr, Jake Casey A. Sugui, worked on the proposal titled, โModelling the Infiltration Capacity Curve of a Selected Flood-Prone Area in Laoag City using Hortonโs Equationโ. This innovation was commended by the panel of judges in the event.
Among four participants in Mathematics Computational Sciences (Team Category), they were the youngest presenters. According to Ms. Ma. Rizza Monique B. Daoang, the team were able to answer the tough questions raised by the panel.
โAfter their presentation, they felt frustrated with their performanceโ added Ms. Daoang, however, she had high hopes for the team as she witnessed how they were able to excellently present and defend their innovation.
Although the team had short preparation, they were able to secure the 2nd place, and their coach is determined to take them to the next level next school year. He expresses to the school head and faculty, โNext year we pray and hope for 1st placeโ as the team yearns for and are potential for the National Science and Technology Fair (NSTF).
This achievement is a testimony to the brilliance and excellence of the students in the realm of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. Moreover, this reflects the schoolโs tagline โRFNSHS: Where excellence and innovation meetsโ , synergizing technology and education to hone the students intelligence and skills.
The school extends its immense gratitude to their hands-on OIC principal, Mrs. Vrenie Joy C. Pedro, and the ever-supportive EPS for Science, Mrs. Flenie A. Galicinao. Moreover, to the parents and guardians for their unconditional love and support to their studentsโ endeavors.
Always the youngest in competitions yet the students never fail to make their way to the spotlight.

Even though short of players with only eight having appeared in the absence of Trevor, the teamโunder Captain France Ballete and ViceCaptain Joseph Miguel Damaso, demonstrated unbeatable power and will. Accompanied by teammates Jonathan Bangquil III, Jaden Kindipan, Jan Paul Acosta, Lien Domingo, Isaak Antonio, and Ethan Santos, the Pythons played with unparalleled team work and spirit.
The match began poorly for the Green Pythons with the first set lost 17โ25 because of coordination issues. Most onlookers questioned the Grade 7 team's capacity to perform against the older Grade 8 Yellow Tigers. Instead of despairing, however, the Pythons turned their doubts into motivation. Sharper concentration and better communication allowed them to fight back in the second set, narrowly grabbing the win at 26โ24.
By the last set, there was sky-high pressure. An injury to star player Jan Paul Acosta looked like a huge setback, but his determination to continue playing against pain galvanized the team's fighting spirit again. The crowd erupted as the Pythons fought point for point. Until at last, they took the thrilling 25โ23 victory.
The courtroom cheered. The Grade 7 Green Pythons had just made history as the first and only team to beat the Grade 8 Yellow Tigers. A win that was all about sheer determination and solidarity.
Asked if they planned their comeback, Captain France Ballete said, "We struggled in the first set, but we trusted each other and worked as one. That's how we won, it was all teamwork."
The Green Pythons' win reminded everyone that real strength is not measured in terms of size or age, but in terms of heart, discipline, and team effort. Their outstanding performance has raised the bar and challenged other students to perform better during the next intramurals.

Anxiety can feel like a storm brewing inside us. Dark clouds of worry, strong winds of doubt, and waves of fear crashing all at once. Just like weather, these storms can pass, but while weโre caught in them, itโs important to know how to find shelter and calm.
One way to deal with anxiety is by learning to steady our breathing, like dropping an anchor in restless waters. Deep, slow breaths remind us that even when the storm feels overwhelming, we have control over our own rhythm. Practices like meditation, yoga, or simply closing our eyes for a moment can serve us a moment of peace.
Living a balanced lifestyle is another way to strengthen our sails. Regular exercise, enough sleep, and nourishing food act like steady winds pushing us forward instead of tossing us around. When our body feels cared for, our mind finds it easier to stand firm against what we tremble upon.
Sharing our feelings is also like lighting a lantern in the dark. When we talk to friends, family, or mentors, we realize we donโt have to sail through the storm alone. Their comfort and understanding guide us, helping us see the shore even when our vision is clouded.
Finally, we must remember to be gentle with ourselves. Too often, anxiety tricks us into thinking we are weak, but reminding ourselves that storms are natural and temporaryโcan change how we see them. By practicing kindness and patience toward ourselves, we allow the storm to pass without tearing us apart.
In the end, anxiety is a part of lifeโs weather, but it doesnโt have to control our journey. With anchors of calm, sails of healthy habits, guiding lights of connection and the warmth of self-compassion, we can learn not just to survive the storm, but to navigate through it with strength and hope.โ๏ธ

Witnessing their triumph in Singapore were Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Joann A. Corpus; the Officer-in-Charge of the school, Mrs. Flenie A. Galicinao; their coach, Ms. Shaira Marie S. Valdez; and the proud parents of the award-winning students.
"We are incredibly proud of Chloe and Miguel's outstanding performance," said Mrs. Galicinao. "Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and they serve as inspiring role models for our other students."
Coach Valdez added, "Their consistent pursuit of excellence is truly commendable. This win is a result of their commitment and the supportive environment we strive to create at RFNSHS."
The Silver and Merit awards won by Sebastian and Bulong not only highlight their individual brilliance but also underscore the high quality of science education at RFNSHS.
