During the Opening Block, Mr. Mark Bryan M. Aguinaldo, School Principal, conducted a Parents’ Orientation to discuss important updates and new DepEd implementations for School Year 2026–2027.

Key topics included the new three-term school calendar, assessment and grading policies, learning continuity plans, and other essential school programs and guidelines. The orientation served as an avenue to strengthen the partnership between the school and parents in ensuring a productive, supportive, and successful learning experience for all learners.

Together, let us work hand in hand in nurturing every child’s growth and success this school year.

BES Learners Explore Laoag City Hall During Open Tour

Fifteen Barit Elementary School learners joined the Open City Hall Tour as part of the forthcoming Laoag City’s Charter Day celebration, June 11, 2026.

The students visited various offices, learned about government services, and met city employees. The activity helped them better understand the role of local government while making the celebration educational and meaningful.

The school buzzed with excitement during the Learners’ Orientation as students were warmly welcomed for the new school year. Teachers guided them through important reminders, routines, and expectations to start the year right.

Adding joy to the day, school supplies were distributed to all learners ensuring everyone is ready, equipped, and excited to learn and grow. 💙✏️

The school year officially kicks off at Barit Elementary School, filled with excitement, smiles, and renewed energy as learners step into another journey of growth and discovery.

Adding inspiration to the morning, Mrs. Marlyn Ventura, EPS in Mathematics, joined the flag ceremony and shared heartfelt words of encouragement—reminding everyone to stay motivated, embrace challenges, and make the most of the new school year.

“This is a success story.” These were the words of BLR Director Atty. Suzette T. Gabanan-Medina as she commended the transformation of the Barit Elementary School (BES) Library during an educational visit on June 5, 2026.

Atty. Gabanan-Medina, together with CLMD Chief Dr. Dinah C. Bonao of the Regional Office, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Joann Corpuz of DepEd Laoag City, CID Chief Dr. Lourdes Arucan, Learning Resources Supervisor Jasper Domingcil, and other education officials, visited the school’s learning resource center and expressed appreciation for its development.

Despite being a small school, BES received commendation for establishing a functional, organized, and learner-centered library. Officials noted with interest that the facility was previously used as a stock room before it was repurposed into a reading and learning space.

The transformation from a storage area into a dedicated learning resource center was recognized as a notable example of resourcefulness and innovation in school-based initiatives. Visiting officials highlighted how leadership and commitment can help create meaningful learning opportunities for learners, regardless of school size.

As part of their support, the visiting officials pledged to assist in further improving the library through the provision of additional reference materials and learning resources for both learners and teachers.
