𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲.

For months, the members of the Bulletin worked tirelessly, not only as journalists but also as students striving to excel in their academic pursuits. They balanced deadlines with school responsibilities, overcame challenges, and remained committed to ensuring that every story was told with truth, precision, and care.

Through the guidance of their mentors and advisers, they discovered the value of responsible journalism and the power of giving a voice to stories that matter. Their commitment, perseverance, and passion became instrumental in shaping the success of this publication and the stories it brought to the community. 𝘓𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘺 𝘡𝘺𝘥𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘭-𝘭𝘢𝘯

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | The Technical-Vocational and Livelihood Education Department (TVLED) of the MMSU-College of Teacher Education (CTE) debuted a newly refurbished park as part of the continuous construction of Open Learning Spaces within the campus, under the initiative of Dr. Ronald Candy S. Lasaten, the dean of the College.

With the goal to improve the quality of education provided by the institution through shared learning places, the said project was sponsored by the Technology for Career and Enterprise Association (TCEA) for A.Y. 2025-2026. | 𝘷𝘪𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦 𝘑𝘰𝘺𝘤𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘦𝘫𝘰

𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘺 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘢𝘯

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | 𝗔𝗕𝗞: 𝗔𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗞𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀
𝘣𝘺 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘙𝘢𝘩𝘰𝘯

𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆. She captures moments worth celebrating, clicks the shutter of every game, photographs genuine smiles, and preserves the bliss of every event. For every story-filled frame and documented moments, credits belong to 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗞𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗷𝗮.

𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. Through her lens, experiences and memories are preserved in photographs that serve as lasting remembrance.

Looking back on her journey, Macuja shared that joining The CTE Bulletin required courage and a strong sense of responsibility. For her, holding a camera is not merely taking pictures; it is about capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments. "𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄," she said. As she became familiar with every click and shot, she gradually grew comfortable covering events and telling stories through her photographs.

Guided by her fascination with cameras and her passion for storytelling, every situation became an opportunity to learn, improve, and capture meaningful moments. Through the connection she developed with her camera, she was able to document experiences that reflected the journeys of individuals and the institution as a whole. "𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿," she believes.

As Macuja leaves the publication behind, she hopes that in the future, the members will continue to embody truthfulness, precision, and integrity in their work. Every frame she captured reflected her dedication, purpose, and passion. In the same way, she hopes that the next photographers will carry these values as they capture moments that matter and tell stories that deserve to be remembered.

𝘙𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 3, 2, 1…

When cameras roll in, she is confident and fearless. Behind every successful report of every reporter inside the publication, a handful of passion and guidance is what they receive. A cup of coffee, her in a blazer that matches her curly hair properly that made her stand out in crowds, her light demeanor that brightens the whole scene—she is 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝗔𝘅𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗹, the Newsflash Head of The CTE Bulletin.

Sometimes seen around the campus with her hair down, Papel has been in the publication for three years. Though no certain answer describes how she sees herself as a journalist, 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁. For a 5-10 minute report, it takes time to shoot and process. But with a team that moves as one, it makes it a lot easier for her.

Humble enough as a first year student, she remembered telling herself that she’ll do less but it led her to something that she didn’t regret at all. She joined competitions, became part of the publication, became a leader and more. “𝘠𝘰𝘶 [𝘈𝘹𝘭] 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘬𝘦𝘺!” she said, showing her true passion and what she can do.

Balancing journalism and academic life was a piece of cake for her. “𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙. 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙡𝙮, 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠, 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡,” she stated. She’s dedicated, genuine, humble, but keeps her head high with passion. If she could thank the people that made her stand where she is right now, those people would be her family, friends, and the people all throughout her journey. Most importantly, God comes first in her vision.

Responsibilities might have piled up on her plate but it was never a reason for her to give up on something that she really wants. 𝗔𝘅𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻, 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. People would always have something to say, and that’s fine. What’s important is that Axl is true to herself–a trace of her that only she understands.

As the board exam is fast approaching, one thing she would focus on is to pass it. Expectations do linger around her but it is a challenge for herself to do well for the review. Her sharp tongue and firm voice behind cameras will carry a legacy that shaped the Newsflash team into what they are now. 𝗔 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗮, 𝗔𝘅𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗹.

The universe has always been seen as a wide array of concepts that lead to multiple theories. Who knows? There might be another you from a different universe, fates and destiny from a different universe, or life from a different universe. Sometimes, it’s hard not to question yourself how much different it would be if you weren’t living in this universe. But there are also things that are worth being curious about in this world that need more attention.

Journalism is freedom. Journalism is having the dedication to inform. That’s how 𝗥𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝗷𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿, the SciTech Head of The CTE Bulletin, describes journalism. Dajugar has been in the publication for three years and it was something that made him someone that transforms creativity into information. Through journalism, he turned his curious thoughts into something that informs others.

Being the SciTech Head was 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘺 𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘺 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘺 for him. After all, it’s his forte. Dajugar writes the best of what he can write; he writes for the writing itself. It’s inspiring how much effort is needed to write something, but with proper motivation and dedication, a piece of idea inside one’s head can lead into words that allow something to finally be fully understood by people.

𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. These are the two words that he wanted to tell himself when he entered college. It may be too simple but it’s something to hold on when you are stuck into making something out of your passion.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆. The journey within those four years was never easy. Rough paths, mind-blowing works, and a deep understanding of various situations were needed. Sometimes, one does not even notice how swiftly time passes. With all the work Dajugar had undertaken, time became the least of his concerns. The closer he got to his goals, the less he noticed its passing. Along this journey, Dajugar found strength in the people who stood by him through thick and thin, and he remains grateful even to those who left him valuable lessons that he will carry with him in the years to come.

Beyond all those journeys, journalism became a freedom for him to explore things–information that must be said in the field of science and technology. Stepping up the stage during commencement, finally, curiosity did something to him but the satisfaction brought him back to all those journeys that he had passed.

Leaving the campus as the SciTech Head, “𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙗 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙮 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙚, 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨,” he shared.

Beyond the universe, beyond all those hardships, Dajugar finally concludes that a phase of his journey is finally closing, another one opens. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗮 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀. 𝗔 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗺, 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹, 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | Seven sets of garden tables and chairs were placed beside the covered pathway near the Normalite Park as part of the student development projects that support the establishment of Open Learning Spaces in the MMSU-College of Teacher Education (CTE) premises.

These projects, sponsored by the CTE-Student Council (SC) and Women’s Club for A.Y. 2025-2026, aim to provide a more spacious and conducive learning environment that awaits both the incoming and returning students for the next academic year. | 𝘷𝘪𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦 𝘑𝘰𝘺𝘤𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘦𝘫𝘰

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆… a new playing field filled with the unexpected. A turning point in life that shapes a person’s adventure of becoming. For the young 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘇, it was like stepping into a foreign land, knowing it’ll change you. For the better, or for the worse? That, she didn’t know. Neither result mattered, yet it remained unpredictable. But amidst this vast and unfamiliar world to her, she found herself not only a student, but also a voice within the publication. What began as hesitation, an application she almost didn’t submit, became the doorway to a journey of growth, courage, and integrity.

𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀. Two years have passed since she got dropped into this new playing field. At this point, one must be conscious of how long they’ve been dormant to ever try something new. The years have passed, and gone was the impression of romanticizing about starting anew. Nevertheless, despite questioning whether her words would be enough and asking herself, “Is it too late?”, she entered courageously with shaking hands and feet.

In her third year of college, a year that demands undivided attention and undisputed excellence towards academics, who would’ve thought Karyl would add another responsibility to her seemingly full plate? Yes, her worries weren’t unfounded. She’s expected to do well inside the room; now she also has to do well outside of it? Won’t this woman crack under pressure?

“Yes,” she said.

“Almost,” she added.

But you know what? Nothing is ever hard for a woman who dreams. Discipline became her compass, time management became her ally, and faith became her anchor. She learned to “𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚.” What extraordinary tenacity, don’t you agree? Such perseverance nowadays is something rare, but she held on to something, hoping it was also waiting for her ahead.

A tomorrow.

Not just for herself, but also for her family.

To her, every survival was grace, and every triumph a gift. And that’s why she had to do well and prove she can do so.

As echoed, the Bulletin became the proving ground where she flourished. Serving two years under it in quiet resilience allowed her some insights. A place where she realized confidence is built step by step, not overnight. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝘁, 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝘀𝗵𝗲’𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀. “I’ve become someone who trusts herself more,” she reflects, a testament to the growth that journalism nurtured in her.

After the grueling four years she endured, constantly breaking and rebuilding herself and her craft, the journey hasn’t yet ended. No. This graduation was just another beginning. Ahead lies the board exam, opportunities to grow, and the path of teaching. A step closer to the dream she had carried since childhood. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. Such insight was realized through her students during her internship. They became mirrors of her potential, encouraging her to walk forward with conviction.

“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚. 𝙁𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨—𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙚𝙥𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜”.

Those were the words that this tenacious woman wanted her young self to hear. An epiphany of how far she had come.

And to her juniors, she leaves behind a message… and a legacy to continue.

“𝘿𝙤 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚. 𝙄𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙛𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙙, 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙. 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙚.”

What could be a fitting quality to describe this woman overall? It was a puzzle that bugged oneself. But now, I have an answer.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆.

She’s a woman of such quality. It could be seen not only in her actions, but also in her journalism. It is the compass that keeps every story pointed toward truth, the unseen foundation of her work, and the principle that shaped her voice in the Bulletin. And her integrity will continue to guide her not only in the classroom, but beyond.

As she steps into the next chapter of her life, this piece hopes to honor her work and service under the publication and shine a light on her journey from doubt and hesitation to confidence and legacy. 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘃𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. One passionate man was born to indulge the audience by creating impressive, visually appealing publication materials. He is 𝗟𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘄𝗮, who found a version of himself that he never expected to become.

It is through unfamiliar responsibility inside the College of Teacher Education that his years in the institution turned into a journey of discovery, discipline, and creative identity. Through layouts, colors, and composition, he slowly realized that design was not just a skill he practiced but a path that shaped who he is now.

He was dedicated to journalism with commitment and compassion burning inside him for three consecutive years as a layout artist of The CTE Bulletin, and he took a lot of self-regulation throughout that journey, as he proudly shared.

“𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣, 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙄 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.” For him, the publication became more than a responsibility and it became a space where growth was inevitable, and every contribution mattered.

“In the office, I found a family where every movement matters and every decision is talked about, and every skill serves as a foundation of a successful outcome,” he said.

“𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙖; 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙪𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙙,”he added.

Through every layout he created, he found enjoyment in the process itself. “I enjoyed moving tools, balancing elements, and adding colors. I enjoyed interacting with anomalies,” he expressed. “...and somehow, that reflects every situation I have faced throughout my journey of becoming who I am today.”

Yet behind his creativity was a constant internal challenge. “My own art style is my biggest competitor because I am constantly competing with my own creativity,” he admitted. “If we’re going to talk about lagging laptops, scratch disk notifications, slow internet connections, and the like, I think those are just the bare minimum of challenges in editing. The real struggle is trying to outdo yourself every time.”

In moments of difficulty, he relied on references and guides not as limitations, but as tools for direction. “Since I am still an amateur, I have websites and publication materials that I use as references. They serve as my blueprints and help me figure out where to begin my edits,” he said. “𝘼𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙡𝙡, 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙧𝙪𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙤.”

His journey was also shaped by people who influenced his creative growth. A friend named Benjo became one of his inspirations through his ability to turn imagination into tangible work. “I once felt jealous of him because he could always turn his imagination into real and raw output,” Catiwa shared. “𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙩 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙𝙡𝙮, 𝙄 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧,” he added.

He was also influenced by his Ate Cher, who deepened his understanding of art through animation, sketching, and illustration. “She loves art in a deeper and more meaningful way,” he said. “I admire her skills, and she helped open my eyes to different perspectives of art.” These experiences eventually led him to a leadership role, ending his college journey as the Head of the Layout Team.

As his chapter in The CTE Bulletin concludes, Lhourd Steve carries lessons that extend beyond design software and layouts.

“𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙠𝙚𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙖 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮,” he emphasized. “Improvement did not come in big leaps but through continuous revision and learning from mistakes,” he further expressed.

He also learned that creativity requires patience, especially when inspiration is low. “𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙬,” he said.

Aside from that, Catiwa also shared a piece of advice to the subsequent layout head to do their task by keeping it simple and grounded in experience.

“𝘿𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝. 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮, 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩. Every layout you make, whether good or flawed, will shape your own style in the end. Just find your own style.”

In the end, his journey stands as a reminder that growth in creativity is not defined by instant mastery, but in the so-called willingness to keep refining, learning, and showing your ability even when progress feels slow.

In every layout he created and every challenge he faced, Lhourd Steve proved that improvement is built through patience and persistence, not pressure. As he moves forward beyond The CTE Bulletin, he carries with him not just skills in design, but a mindset shaped by discipline, collaboration, and the courage to keep evolving as a creative individual.

For The CTE Bulletin, no one understood this better than 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼, the publication's Sports Head, whose passion for storytelling transformed sports coverage into something greater than game reports and event recaps. Through his leadership, sports journalism became a platform where athletes were not only recognized for their victories but celebrated for the challenges they overcame along the way.

One of Jefferson's most unforgettable experiences was covering major university sporting events and regional competitions. While many focused on the outcomes of the games, he focused on the people behind them—the student-athletes who dedicated countless hours to training, endured setbacks, and continued striving toward their goals.

Reflecting on his contribution as Sports Head, he shared, "𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨, 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨. His growth as a campus journalist was shaped by discipline, curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence. Yet more than these qualities, it was his deep love for storytelling that distinguished his work. 𝗛𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀—𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲.

This belief guided every story he wrote. Rather than stopping at statistics and results, he sought the emotions, struggles, and triumphs behind the headlines. For him, meaningful journalism was about connecting readers to the human experiences that make every story worth remembering.

Jefferson's journey within the Editorial Board also revealed a different perspective on leadership. Before becoming Sports Head, he served as a Student Council officer for two consecutive years. When he chose to devote himself to campus journalism, he did not leave leadership behind. Instead, he discovered another way to serve.

Through journalism, he learned that leadership can take many forms. Sometimes it means speaking before a crowd. Other times, it means holding a pen and using it to give voice to stories that deserve to be heard. Both carry the power to inspire change.

These words embody the legacy he leaves behind—not only as a Sports Head, but as a storyteller who understood the true power of journalism.

Now that Jefferson is stepping down from his position, he leaves behind more than articles, headlines, and sports coverage. He leaves a standard of excellence, a passion for meaningful storytelling, and a reminder that every athlete's journey matters.

In every story he brought to life, every athlete he helped recognize, and every writer he inspired to look beyond the scoreboard, Jefferson showed that sports journalism is not simply about recording victories. It is about honoring the dreams, sacrifices, and determination behind them.
