The DCCP ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 2nd Training Day for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026โ2027 on August 16, 2026, at the DCCP Gymnasium, with the participation of MS1 Cadets.
The training commenced with Manual of Arms, reinforcing discipline, coordination, proper ex*****on, and military bearing among the cadets. This was followed by a lecture on โAFP & PA Organizationโ, facilitated by LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR. (INF) PA, Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit and Director of the 101st Community Defense Center (CDC), which provided the cadets with an overview of the organizational structure, roles, and functions of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine Army (PA).
The activity further strengthened the cadetsโ foundational knowledge of the military structure while complementing their practical training and development as future leaders.
Through continuous training and meaningful instruction, the DCCP ROTC Unit remains committed to developing cadets who are disciplined, knowledgeable, and prepared to serve with integrity and responsibility.

In commemoration of the 43rd RESCOM Founding Anniversary, the DCCP ROTC Unit actively participated in the 10th RESCOM-Wide Simultaneous Blood Donation Activity held on August 15, 2026, at the DCCP Laoag Gymnasium. Guided by the theme โDugong Buhay Amin Alay Bilang mga Makabagong Bayani Tungo sa Matatag na Sandigan ng Bagong Pilipinas,โ the activity brought together students from CWTS and LTS, ROTC MS1 Cadets, and civilian volunteers, united by a common purposeโto extend a helping hand and contribute to saving lives through voluntary blood donation.
The successful conduct of the activity was made possible under the leadership of LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR. (INF) PA, Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit and Director of the 101st Community Defense Center, whose leadership and support contributed to the effective implementation of initiatives that promote civic responsibility and service to the community.
The DCCP ROTC Unit also acknowledges the valuable support of the MS31 and MS41 Cadet Officers from the DCCP ROTC Unit and MMSU Batac ROTC Unit, the Training Staff, and the dedicated medical team from the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. Their collective efforts and commitment contributed significantly to the orderly and successful implementation of the activity.

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, the DCCP Gymnasium served as the venue for the Joint Opening Ceremony of the Basic and Advanced ROTC Cadets for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026โ2027. The activity officially marked the start of another training year for the DCCP ROTC Unit, bringing together all enrolled MS-1 cadets and Advanced ROTC cadets for the formal opening of the new training cycle.
One of the significant parts of the program was the pinning of ranks for the MS 31 and MS 41 Advanced ROTC Cadets, marking their progression within the ROTC program and their assumption of greater responsibilities as cadet leaders. The ceremony was graced by MAJ NECKSON C LICUD (INF) PA, Executive Officer of the 56IB (TATAG), 7ID, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. He was formally introduced by 1LT ARSENIO R MANUEL JR PA (RES), Assistant Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit. The presentation of cadets for the opening was led by 1LT ERNESTO A TAGAVILLA SR PA (RES), Training Officer of the DCCP ROTC Unit, while the declaration of the formal opening was made by LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR (INF) PA, Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit.
Another highlight of the occasion was the turnover of leadership within the ROTC Corps. Outgoing Corps Commander, Cadet Colonel Carl Angelo G Ramiscal, formally turned over the responsibilities of command to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel John Cedric R Pascua 1CL, who assumed the position of incoming Corps Commander. The transition marked a new chapter in the leadership of the corps, carrying forward the responsibilities entrusted to its cadet officers.
The opening ceremony was followed by a lecture delivered by CPT AL-JAME S. BIN ABDULLAH (INF) PA, CMO Officer of the 56IB (TATAG), 7ID. The discussion centered on the West Philippine Sea and Civil-Military Operations (CMO), providing the cadets with relevant insights into national concerns and the importance of cooperation between the military and civilian sectors.
The activity formally set the direction for the new training year, reinforcing the values of discipline, leadership, responsibility, and service among the cadets of the DCCP ROTC Unit.

The Data Center College of the Philippines ROTC Unit earned the distinction of being named the RAATI 2026 Champion, receiving the RAATI 2026 Championship Trophy and the Streamer Award for Best in Comprehensive Examination during the 53rd Founding Anniversary of the 1st Regional Community Defense Group (1RCDG), held on 01 August 2026 in Manaoag, Pangasinan.
The distinguished RAATI 2026 Championship Trophy was formally presented by MGEN RONALD JESS S ALCUDIA PA, RESCOM Commander, and was proudly received by Mr. Joseph D. Sicco, DCCP School President; Dr. Jay-Lynne May S. Escalona, NSTP Director; and LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR (INF) PA, Director, 101CDC, 1RCDG, RCPA.
This achievement was made possible through the leadership of LTC JOEWIE T BERMUDES PA (RET), unit commandant during RAATI 2026; the unwavering commitment to the development of the ROTC program of college president MR. JOSEPH D. SICCO; and the guidance, coordination, and dedicated support of NSTP Director DR. JAY-LYNNE MAY S. ESCALONA.
Our sincerest appreciation goes to the training staff and training officers, whose dedication, patience, and commitment guided the cadets throughout the RAATI preparations. Your efforts in every training, instruction, formation, and preparation were instrumental in achieving this milestone.

In line with its commitment to comprehensive cadet development, the DCCP ROTC Unit conducted the Second Day of the Common Module Phase on August 02, 2026, at the DCCP Gymnasium. The activity featured a lecture on Gender and Development (GAD) facilitated by 1LT Ernesto A Tagavilla PA (RES).
The lecture emphasized the importance of gender equality, respect, and shared responsibility in fostering an environment that values inclusion and fairness. Cadets gained valuable insights into advancing gender equality, preventing gender-based discrimination, and promoting respect for the rights and dignity of every individual.
The lecture reflects the DCCP ROTC Unit's commitment to developing cadets equipped not only with essential knowledge but also with the values, character, and sense of responsibility expected of future leaders and responsible citizens.
