The DCCP ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 2nd Training Day for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026โ€“2027 on August 16, 2026, at the DCCP Gymnasium, with the participation of MS1 Cadets.

The training commenced with Manual of Arms, reinforcing discipline, coordination, proper ex*****on, and military bearing among the cadets. This was followed by a lecture on โ€œAFP & PA Organizationโ€, facilitated by LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR. (INF) PA, Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit and Director of the 101st Community Defense Center (CDC), which provided the cadets with an overview of the organizational structure, roles, and functions of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine Army (PA).

The activity further strengthened the cadetsโ€™ foundational knowledge of the military structure while complementing their practical training and development as future leaders.

Through continuous training and meaningful instruction, the DCCP ROTC Unit remains committed to developing cadets who are disciplined, knowledgeable, and prepared to serve with integrity and responsibility.

In commemoration of the 43rd RESCOM Founding Anniversary, the DCCP ROTC Unit actively participated in the 10th RESCOM-Wide Simultaneous Blood Donation Activity held on August 15, 2026, at the DCCP Laoag Gymnasium. Guided by the theme โ€œDugong Buhay Amin Alay Bilang mga Makabagong Bayani Tungo sa Matatag na Sandigan ng Bagong Pilipinas,โ€ the activity brought together students from CWTS and LTS, ROTC MS1 Cadets, and civilian volunteers, united by a common purposeโ€”to extend a helping hand and contribute to saving lives through voluntary blood donation.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible under the leadership of LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR. (INF) PA, Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit and Director of the 101st Community Defense Center, whose leadership and support contributed to the effective implementation of initiatives that promote civic responsibility and service to the community.

The DCCP ROTC Unit also acknowledges the valuable support of the MS31 and MS41 Cadet Officers from the DCCP ROTC Unit and MMSU Batac ROTC Unit, the Training Staff, and the dedicated medical team from the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. Their collective efforts and commitment contributed significantly to the orderly and successful implementation of the activity.

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, the DCCP Gymnasium served as the venue for the Joint Opening Ceremony of the Basic and Advanced ROTC Cadets for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026โ€“2027. The activity officially marked the start of another training year for the DCCP ROTC Unit, bringing together all enrolled MS-1 cadets and Advanced ROTC cadets for the formal opening of the new training cycle.

One of the significant parts of the program was the pinning of ranks for the MS 31 and MS 41 Advanced ROTC Cadets, marking their progression within the ROTC program and their assumption of greater responsibilities as cadet leaders. The ceremony was graced by MAJ NECKSON C LICUD (INF) PA, Executive Officer of the 56IB (TATAG), 7ID, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. He was formally introduced by 1LT ARSENIO R MANUEL JR PA (RES), Assistant Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit. The presentation of cadets for the opening was led by 1LT ERNESTO A TAGAVILLA SR PA (RES), Training Officer of the DCCP ROTC Unit, while the declaration of the formal opening was made by LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR (INF) PA, Commandant of the DCCP ROTC Unit.

Another highlight of the occasion was the turnover of leadership within the ROTC Corps. Outgoing Corps Commander, Cadet Colonel Carl Angelo G Ramiscal, formally turned over the responsibilities of command to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel John Cedric R Pascua 1CL, who assumed the position of incoming Corps Commander. The transition marked a new chapter in the leadership of the corps, carrying forward the responsibilities entrusted to its cadet officers.

The opening ceremony was followed by a lecture delivered by CPT AL-JAME S. BIN ABDULLAH (INF) PA, CMO Officer of the 56IB (TATAG), 7ID. The discussion centered on the West Philippine Sea and Civil-Military Operations (CMO), providing the cadets with relevant insights into national concerns and the importance of cooperation between the military and civilian sectors.

The activity formally set the direction for the new training year, reinforcing the values of discipline, leadership, responsibility, and service among the cadets of the DCCP ROTC Unit.
