The National Teacher Education Quiz Bee 2026 โ Institutional Qualifying Round was successfully held last February 28, 2026, at the Data Center College of the Philippines of Laoag City, Inc.. The competition was initiated by the Carl E. Balita Review Center (CBRC) to promote academic excellence among future educators.
Participants from different year levels competed in a challenging battle of knowledge and critical thinking. Following a highly competitive and intellectually engaging event, the top performers were declared as follows:
1st Place โ Ceejay D. Aguinaldo (3rd Year)
2nd Place โ Krishnan Nikolai Miguel (4th Year)
3rd Place โ Clarisa Cyndee Juan (3rd Year)

Yesterday's Ganap: Orientation of Practice Teachers from Data Center College of the Philippines of Laoag City, Inc. at Schools Division Office Conference Room, Laoag City.
The Schools Division of Laoag City held an Orientation for the 61 practice teachers from the Data Center College of the Philippines of Laoag City, Inc. The event was organized to prepare the future teachers as they begin their Field Studies and Classroom-Based Action Research in different cooperating schools in the division.
The program was led by Maโam Yhan Yhan Bautista, Education Program Specialist II, with the support and presence of key DepEd officials led by Dr. Joann A. Corpuz (Schools Division Superintendent of Deped School Divison of Laoag City), Dr. Mariecon G. Ramirez (Assistant Schools Division Superintendent), who delivered their words of challenge, and to Sir John Paul Viernes, Chief Education SupervisorโSGOD, who formally welcomed the participants, as well as to participated by the schools heads from the seven cooperating schools, who will serve as mentors and partners in honing the practice teachersโ skills: Mr. Eufrecino R. Factores โ Principal I, Santa Maria Elementary School; Mrs. Victoria E. Ruiz โ Head Teacher III, Suyo Elementary School; Mr. Cornelio Jimmy C. Lucas โ Principal IV, Shamrock Elementary School; Mr. Arnel C. Sabuco Jr. โ Principal IV, Buttong Integrated School; Dr. Noralyn Dela Cruz โ Principal II, Laoag Central Elementary School; Mrs. Fritzie Hazel Aplacador โ Principal I, Agripino P. Santos Elementary School; and Mrs. Wilma C. Penic โ Principal II, Roque B. Ablan Elementary School.
The program highlighted topics that would help and guide the practice teachers in the field. Atty. Graciela Fae Saguiguit, Legal Designate, discussed the Child Protection Policy, including the Statement of Policy, Duties and Responsibilities of School Personnel, Prohibited Acts, and Rules and Procedures in Handling Child Abuse, Exploitation, Violence, and Discrimination Cases. She also delivered Administrative Concerns, emphasizing the Ethical Conduct of Government Employees and the importance of Data Privacy in the school setting. And Sir Jasper Domingcil, EPSโLRM, presented topics on Access to DepEd Learning Resources and Learning Resources Development, ensuring that practice teachers are equipped to maximize available teaching tools and platforms.
The orientation officially begins the journey of the 61 practice teachers as they step into real DepEd classrooms where they can experience the real-world environment of teaching and learning.

The Data Center College of the Philippines of Laoag City, Inc. โ Bachelor of Elementary Education Department has officially partnered with the Department of Education โ Region 1 through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Field Study and Practice Teaching, signed by Regional Director Dr. Tolentino Aquino through the assistance of Dr. Ritchie G. Macalanda, Education Program Supervisor of the Field Technical Assistance Division and Focal Person for Pre-Service Teaching. In addition to this regional partnership, the school also maintains strong collaborations with the Schools Division Offices of Ilocos Norte and Laoag City, led by Atty. Donato D. Balderas Jr., Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Ilocos Norte, and Dr. Joann A. Corpuz, Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Laoag City. Also supported by Dr. Martina R. Agullana, Education Program Supervisor of DepEd Ilocos Norte, and Mr. Bryan Glen C. Bautista, Education Program Specialist of DepEd Laoag City. These partnerships will provide education students with valuable classroom experience to help prepare them for their future roles as professional teachers.
The MOA signing was made possible through the efforts of Mr. Elmore E. Riotoc, Head of the Bachelor of Elementary Education Department, together with the Teaching Internship Coordinators โ Mr. Jeffrey Bumanglag and Ms. Elaine Riotoc, who paid a courtesy visit to the DepEd Regional Office in San Fernando, La Union, and DepEd Divisions Office at Laoag City to help finalize the agreement.
