Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and in anticipation of continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon, government offices in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Occidental Mindoro are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements on 20 August 2026.

Agencies delivering essential and vital services shall continue their operations. Alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented in public and private schools in the aforementioned areas.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Fifty (50) students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 received umbrellas through the Project Umbrellove of Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG).

Some donors and parent representatives , SELG officers led by Nathaniel Bagaoisan and their Adviser Mrs. Rachel V. Rioga as well as School Principal I Mrs. Luzviminda T. Sagario participated in the distribution of these wonderful umbrellas.

As we celebrate new beginnings and shared memories, we continue 𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧!

𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝟰 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗭𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘂𝗽

Cefie Katherine P. Balanay, a seven-year-old gymnast from DepEd Laoag City - Buttong Integrated School, won four bronze medals during the 2026 15th Zhong Ling Cup in Houzhou, Guangdong Province, China, and brought pride to her school and the Philippines.

She bagged four bronzes in Hoop, Ball, Free Hand, and Individual All Around events, showcasing her skills and determination in rhythmic gymnastics.

During her international competition, she displayed maturity, composure, and expertise while competing against players from other countries. Her four medals show her dedication to her training and sport.

As Balanay continues to embody the spirit of her school and the Philippines through perseverance and sportsmanship, the achievement is a reason to be proud of her at Buttong IS.

In a Facebook message, Ms. Marielle Palomares thanked Buttong IS for their love and support to Cefie for her competition in China. "Your love and support mean so much to us. This achievement is not hers alone, it's a win for everyone who helped make this possible," she added.

Meanwhile, other gymnasts of the Laoag City Rhythmic Gymnastics Club also garnered medals in various categories.

Four events took place. Four medals of bronze were won. And Balanay, an outstanding Buttong IS athlete, continues to shine around the world.

𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝘂𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗾𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮

Grade 9 Copernicus duo, Anel Pacis Jr. and Prince Agustin of Buttong Integrated School, made DepEd Laoag City and the Philippines proud as they brought home the silver medal in the 2026 Beach Teqball International Cup in Rushan, China, August 3-9.

As a result of their performance under their coach, Mr. George Balanay’s guidance, Pacis and Agustin did exceptionally well when pitted against their competitors from other countries like Adam Bako from Hungary and Bartłomiej Franczuk from Poland.

Pacis and Agustin also dominated the semifinals round with 12-10, 12-10 against Malaysia's S. Azmilaan and M. Ahmad.

Meanwhile, the Women's Double Team, Jhoanna Abulencia and Rizzalyn Amolacion, settled to bronze medal against China, 8-12, 12-11, 9-12.

Buttong Integrated School would like to congratulate Pacis and Agustin for having won a silver medal at Rushan, China and recognizes them for their outstanding performance.

This inspires the other students to excel and overcome their difficulties while representing their school and country with pride.

Pacis and Agustin have proved that perseverance is universal from Buttong IS all around the world.
