𝐍𝐖𝐔 𝐔𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐚 𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐁𝐆

SAN NICOLAS, ILOCOS NORTE — Northwestern University (NWU) unveiled a commemorative monument honoring the late Don Antonio Pineda at the Northwestern University Ecological Park and Botanic Gardens (NUEBG) on the anniversary of his passing.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the University President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, deans, and department heads, who gathered to pay tribute to Don Antonio's enduring contributions to the institution and the community.

During the program, university officials reflected on his vision, leadership, and dedication to Northwestern University, emphasizing the importance of preserving the values he exemplified as the institution continues its pursuit of academic excellence and community development.

Situated within the tranquil grounds of the NUEBG, the monument now stands as a lasting tribute to Don Antonio Pineda's legacy—serving as a symbol of gratitude and an inspiration for present and future generations of Northwesternians.

Behind every success was a version of you who felt tired but still showed up. Who doubted, but still tried. Who questioned everything, yet still chose to learn. And that version of you deserves to be remembered just as much as this achievement.

Aligned with the convention’s theme, “𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓: 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑬𝒄𝒐𝒔𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉,” the group presented two research studies:

Through these research endeavors, the students demonstrated their commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, promoting environmental sustainability, and addressing pressing ecological and public health concerns. Their participation highlights the vital role of young scientists in fostering innovation and contributing to community and ecosystem resilience.
