As part of the Finance Officeโs continuous commitment to improve student services, and support the corporate goals and objectives of Northwestern University (NWU), Vice President for Finance, Prof. Josephine G. Bolusan, spearheaded discussions with representatives from various banking institutions to explore potential banking products, investment opportunities, and financial solutions that could benefit the entire NWU community.
The initiative recognizes the changing financial needs of students, faculty, employees, and the institution, as well as, the growing importance of accessible, convenient, secure, and technology-driven financial services. During the town hall meeting, participating banks presented their respective products and services, including solutions that could facilitate easier payment transactions, improve accessibility to banking services, and enhance the efficiency of university financial operations.
The discussions also explored potential investment opportunities for the university with the objective of identifying sound, safe and sustainable instruments that would help maximize the available funds, generate additional income, preserve capital and support the long-term financial sustainability of the university. These opportunities will be evaluated for risk, return, liquidity, security, and consistency with the universityโs financial policies and objectives. More importantly, the engagement represents the Finance Officeโs proactive strategy for developing strategic alliances with financial institutions that can support the universityโs operational needs and long-term financial growth.
Ultimately, the initiative underscores NWUโs commitment to putting students and stakeholders at the center of its service delivery while ensuring that financial operations remain responsive, innovative, efficient, and aligned with the universityโs corporate goals, strategic directions, and long-term institutional aspirations.
