At the moment, Dr. Yiyun Hu, Associate Professor and Vice Director of the Institute of International and Comparative Education at Beijing Normal University, China, is delivering her talk titled, โHow Does Interdisciplinary Curriculum Development Enhance Teacher Competence? A Case Study of Education for International Understanding in Chinese Kโ12 Schools.โ
Her plenary presentation examines how interdisciplinary approaches can strengthen teacher competence in todayโs globalized education landscape.

Breakout Session 1, under Theme D: Inclusive Education and Student Support, centers on fostering equitable and supportive learning environments for diverse learners. Discussions cover inclusive and special needs education, student well-being and psychosocial support, equity and culturally responsive practices, as well as family and community engagement. The session is guided by moderator Dr. Madeline T. Fernando, with Dr. Arlyne C. Marasigan, Dr. Lilibeth G. Abrogena, and Dr. Bethany Grace Calixto serving as judges, and technical support from Ms. Hannah Abigail Mamuad.
Meanwhile, Breakout Session 2 highlights Theme E: Graduate and International Education, focusing on preparing globally competent graduates through advanced education and international collaboration. Key topics include graduate education and professional development, global competencies, cross-cultural learning, and strategic partnerships. The session is moderated by Mr. Christian Jay Valdez, with Dr. Arlene L. Gonzales, Prof. Jeanette G. Dials, and Mrs. Habtam Setegn as judges, supported by Ms. Vivian Lee V. Dagampat as technical staff.
Breakout Session 3 features Theme C (Part 2): Research Process and Methodologies, emphasizing research rigor and innovation across all stages of inquiry. Presentations explore quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches, instrument development and validation, research ethics and integrity, and scholarly writing for publication. At present, a panel discussion is underway on โResearch Integrity and Impact in a Global Context: Ethics, Open Science, and Community-Engaged Research,โ bringing together school heads from higher education institutions in India, South Africa, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
Among the panelists are Dr. Doreen D. Domingo, dean of the MMSU Graduate School, and Dr. Ronald Candy S. Lasaten, dean of the College of Teacher Education, who are sharing their insights on strengthening ethical research practices, promoting open science, and enhancing the global impact of academic communities.

For Breakout Session 1 (Theme A: Teaching & Learning Strategies), Dr. Rosabel L. Acosta, Dr. Tariku Gemede, and Prof. Leonardo D. Tejano are serving as judges, with Dr. Marc Paul T. Calzada as moderator and Ms. Lovely Demandante as technical staff. Participants are actively exploring innovative pedagogy, curriculum development, assessment practices, and learner engagement to enhance classroom outcomes.
In Breakout Session 2 (Theme B: Research Excellence, Impact, and Methods), Dr. Jayson L. de Vera, Dr. Vida V. Antonio, and Dr. Mekuria Guye are serving as judges, with Mr. Christian Jeffrey Balintec as moderator and Ms. Cherryl Pascua Dahilig as technical staff.
