As we observe Semana Santa, many of us will be stepping out for Visita Iglesia, joining processions, or traveling to spend the long weekend with family. While we reflect and recharge, let's not forget that the summer heat is incredibly intense right now!

Before you head out, keep these quick health and safety reminders in mind to avoid heat exhaustion and stay healthy:
💧 Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty. Bring a reusable water bottle everywhere you go. Skip the sugary drinks and caffeine as they can dehydrate you faster!
☂️ Bring Sun Protection: Don't leave home without your payong (umbrella), a wide-brimmed hat, or sunglasses. Apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes before stepping out and reapply if you're out all day.
👕 Dress Comfortably: Wear light-colored, loose-fitting, and breathable clothes (like cotton). Dark colors absorb more heat!
🥪 Watch What You Eat: Summer heat makes food spoil much faster. If you're bringing packed meals for your road trip or Visita Iglesia, make sure they are stored properly and eaten right away.
🛑 Listen to Your Body: If you start feeling dizzy, nauseous, or unusually tired, stop and rest. Find a shaded or air-conditioned area immediately and drink water.

Friendly Reminder: Let's look out for our seniors and kids! They are the most vulnerable to the extreme summer heat, so make sure they are comfortable and well-hydrated.
