UAPSA-Northwestern University Chapter

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Architecture students from the second, third, and fourth year levels of Northwestern University held a two-day educational field trip on March 14–15, aimed at strengthening academic learning through direct engagement with the built environment. The activity provided opportunities to observe and analyze architectural practices across both historical and contemporary contexts.

The itinerary included visits to Abucay Church and Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, where students gained insight into traditional architecture and heritage conservation. This was followed by participation in Worldbex at the SMX Convention Center, exposing them to current industry trends, materials, and technologies. The trip also covered key urban developments such as Ayala Center and Bonifacio Global City, allowing students to explore contemporary planning and design strategies in practice.

Through this experience, students were able to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, enriching their understanding of architecture across different scales and settings.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Danica P. Vertido, a fifth-year Architecture student, represented the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology during the Research Colloquium held on March 5, 2026, at the International House Function Hall of Northwestern University. Her participation in the event was officially endorsed by the Department of Architecture through the Department Head and the College Dean, with guidance from Ar. Deanna Alyssa C. Rentegrado.

During the activity, Vertido was also recognized with the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗘-𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 among the participating researchers.

Anchored on the theme “Research with Purpose: Transforming Lives through Knowledge, Service, and Impact,” the colloquium served as an academic platform for faculty and student researchers to present their studies, exchange scholarly ideas, and promote responsible and ethical research practices. The program emphasized the importance of research in advancing knowledge, strengthening community engagement, and generating meaningful societal impact.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The January 2026 ALE Passers were formally recognized during the Testimonial Program held on February 6, 2026, at the IH Building, Northwestern University. The celebration began with a vibrant parade around Laoag City, proudly showcasing our newly licensed architects and marking the beginning of a memorable day dedicated to their achievements. This was followed by a meaningful program filled with messages of gratitude, inspiration, and shared reflections on the journey toward becoming architects.

Inspiring testimonials from the passers highlighted their experiences, challenges, and triumphs throughout their architectural journey, offering motivation and guidance to aspiring future architects in attendance. The gathering also strengthened the bond within the Northwestern University architecture community, celebrating not only individual success but also the collective effort that shaped this achievement. The event served as a tribute to the dedication, perseverance, and passion of the passers, as well as to the mentors, faculty, family, and friends who supported them along the way.
