OJT TEAM 6 | UNITED IN SERVICE

OJT Team 6 under the leadership of Team Leader Mark Jesther Ventura , together with our fellow Criminology interns from Data Center College of the Philippines, conducted a meaningful initiative to extend help to a Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

This activity reflects our shared commitment as future law enforcers to uphold compassion, discipline, and genuine public service beyond our daily duties. Through unity and cooperation, we continue to demonstrate that service is not only about enforcing the law but also about understanding and humanity.

We sincerely express our gratitude for the approval and full support of the Acting Jail Warden, JSINSP Joel A. Guillermo, for allowing this initiative to take place.
Service with integrity. Leadership with compassion.

OJT TEAM 2 | SERVICE INITIATIVE

In line with the initiative of our Team Leader Vince Kenneth Abedes and CCJESO President Mark Christian Gervacio, OJT Team 2 conducted a simple sharing activity in support of a 71-year-old PDL. This activity reflects the core values of NWUโ€“Criminology discipline, compassion, and a genuine willingness to help those in need.

This initiative is a testament to the commitment of the NWU Criminology family to extend service beyond academics and training, embodying the true essence of public service and humanity.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our OJT Advisers for their guidance and full support of this initiative, and to the INPJ Warden, Sir Editor Guiang, for his kind approval and continued support in making this activity possible.

Service with discipline. Leadership with compassion.

A new chapter began for aspiring criminology professionals as the Northwestern University College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) formally inducted its interns in the Donning Ceremony of the Siklab Diwa Class of 2026-02 on January 28 at the Northwestern University Oval as they officially donned their shoulder boards, a symbol of discipline, accountability, and commitment to service.

The event opened with an opening remark delivered by Dr. Jonah B. Badua, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education while Dr. Charliemane A. Bullalayao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the keynote inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of discipline, integrity, and commitment to public service as the students begin their journey in the field of criminal justice.

Furthermore, An inspirational message was delivered by PLTCOL Ryan M. Retotar, Chief of Police of Laoag City Police Station, who encouraged the interns to embody professionalism, courage, and dedication in their academic training and future service. โ€œThis second donning marks growth, it tells us that you have already proven yourself capable of learning, adjusting, and improving. It also reminds you that learning never stops,โ€ he remarked.

The highlight of the ceremony was the Donning of the Shoulder Boards, where parents, guardians, administrators, and faculty members formally placed the shoulder boards on the interns, symbolizing their official acceptance into the disciplined ranks of the criminology program and their readiness to assume greater responsibilities.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks delivered by Ms. Diamille Damaso, OJT Adviser, who encouraged the interns to remain steadfast amid challenges. โ€œWhen the challenges feel overwhelming, lean into your training,โ€ she stated. โ€œDo not fear the struggle, for it is the struggle that earns the badge. You are ready.โ€

The event concluded with a collective reminder of faith and service, reinforcing Northwestern Universityโ€™s commitment to developing criminology students who are disciplined in conduct, grounded in values, and prepared to serve and protect the community.
