WHAT'S BSE VALUES EDUCATION? A GROWING NUMBER OF STUDENTS FROM OTHER DISCIPLINES have been asking the same questions about it. Here are the short answers โ the full explanation is in the article below.
(1) "Isn't BSE Values Education just teaching students to be good?"
No. It's a rigorous training in teaching higher-order thinking โ analyzing value concepts, evaluating moral arguments, and reasoning through real value-based issues. Closer to philosophy and applied ethics than to moral instruction.
(2) "Can it help me get into law or medical school?"
Foundationally, yes. The reasoning it builds is also what the UP LAE, PhiLSAT, and NMAT reward โ and what most graduate-school entrance exams look for as well.

A great deal: education and training consultancy, curriculum and policy work at DepEd, education-policy research, philosophical coaching, mediation, organizational ethics, instructional materials development, and education commentary and journalism.

Yes. It's the same foundation graduate programs abroad look for in philosophy of education, philosophy for/with children, applied ethics, curriculum studies, and peace and conflict studies.
