Today, on Ninoy Aquino Day, we pause to honor a man whose love for the Philippines transcended fear, exile, and uncertainty. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. believed deeply in the heart, resilience, and potential of the Filipino people. Returning home in 1983 despite knowing the immense risks, he showed us what true sacrifice and unwavering conviction look like.

Heroism isn't just a chapter in our history textbooks—it’s a living reminder of our collective responsibility to care for our nation, uphold truth, and lift each other up.

As we commemorate Ninoy Aquino Day today, let’s carry that same faith forward. May we stay passionate about our communities, stand up for what is right, and continue writing a story for our country that we can all be proud of. 💛

As the Municipal Child Representative of Laoac, Pangasinan, I am committed to being the voice of children, listening to their concerns, advocating for their rights and protection, and bringing their ideas and recommendations to the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC).

Together with our schools, families, LGU, and community, I will promote a safe, inclusive, respectful, and bullying-free environment where every child feels heard, protected, valued, and included.

I will lead by example through kindness, respect, responsibility, and leadership, because being a Child Representative is not just about having a voice, it is about using that voice for every child.

Sa pagdiriwang ng 𝐁𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐚, muli nating yakapin at pahalagahan ang wikang Filipino na nagbubuklod sa atin mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng kapuluan. Sa panahon ng mabilis na pagbabago, huwag nating kalimutang pagyamanin, gamitin, at ipagmalaki ang sariling atin. Dahil sa bawat salitang ating binibigkas, patuloy nabubuhay ang ating pagkakakilanlan bilang isang lahi.🙌

𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗼, 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗞𝗼: 𝗔 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽

On 𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘺 18, 2026, the Karapatan Ko, Responsibilidad Ko: A Child Protection Training Workshop was held at the 𝘓𝘪𝘰𝘯'𝘴 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘗𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘓𝘢𝘰𝘢𝘤, 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯.

The program officially started at 8:00 AM and was spearheaded by the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 (𝐋𝐂𝐏𝐂) and the 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐌𝐒𝐖𝐃𝐎) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Laoac. The event brought together participants from five secondary schools in the Municipality of Laoac, namely 𝐋𝐚𝐨𝐚𝐜 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐨𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐨-𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐬𝐮 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, and 𝐃𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐨 𝐆. 𝐆𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.

The program began with the opening preliminaries, followed by the welcome remarks of 𝐌𝐱. 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐓. 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐨. An inspiring message was then delivered by 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐨, who encouraged the participants to become advocates for children's rights, protection, and welfare.

The first session, "𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸" was facilitated by 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧/𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐖𝐂𝐏𝐃, 𝐏𝐒𝐒𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚. She discussed the fundamental rights of every child and emphasized the importance of protecting children from abuse, manipulation, cruelty, harassment, exploitation, and discrimination. She also explained 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘕𝘰. 7610, 𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘦, 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘵, highlighting its significance in safeguarding the rights and well-being of every children.

‎The second session, "𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴" was presented by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐡𝐢𝐳 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐆. 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨, 𝐑𝐏𝐦, 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐀, the second Learning Source Provider. She emphasized the importance of maintaining good mental health and reminded everyone that one of the greatest acts of love and care is simply listening to others. She encouraged participants to become more understanding, compassionate, and supportive, especially toward children and young people who may be facing emotional and psychological challenges.

‎In the afternoon, the third session, "𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱-𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁" was facilitated by 𝐌𝐱. 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐓. 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐨. The discussion focused on creating communities where every child feels safe, supported, empowered, and included. Participants were encouraged to work together in promoting a positive environment that respects children's rights and allows them to grow and thrive without fear of violence or discrimination.

‎The final session, "𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀, 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻)" was once again facilitated by 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧/𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐖𝐂𝐏𝐃, 𝐏𝐒𝐒𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚. She discussed the growing risks children face in the digital world and shared practical ways to stay safe online. She also reminded everyone to use social media responsibly, recognize online threats, and report incidents of cyberbullying and online exploitation.

‎Following the training sessions, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐒. 𝐍𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬, the outgoing 𝐈𝐧-𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, delivered her heartfelt farewell message. She shared her accomplishments, experiences, and the challenges she encountered throughout her term. More importantly, she reminded everyone that leadership is not defined by the title or position one holds, but by the actions taken to serve others and create meaningful change.

‎The program concluded with the Election for the In-School Principal Child Representative. After the election process, Ms. Lorraine C. Señora of Laoac National High School was officially elected as the new In-School Principal Child Representative.

The event ended with participants gaining valuable knowledge and a deeper understanding of child protection, mental health, online safety, and the shared responsibility of creating a safer and more inclusive environment for every child.
