Amateur Songwriting Competition
Open to All
(Reference: Psalms)
Criteria for Judging
1. Theology (50%)
2. Melody (25%)
3. Creativity (15%)
4. Clarity (10%)
Mechanics
• Only Psalms may be used as the lyrical source.
• Lyrics must be in English language.
• Entries may be performed solo or with a band of three to four members.
• Judging will focus on the composition (lyrics and melody), not the technical performance of the band.
Submission Guidelines (Pre-Checking)
• Deadline: 10 days before the event.
• Submit lyrics with the specific Psalm references clearly indicated.
• Provide a brief written explanation of the song’s intention and message.
• Submissions will be reviewed to ensure that the Scripture reference and songwriter’s message are aligned.
• No melody submission is required during this stage – only lyrics and explanation.
Event Day
• Participants will perform their original songs live.
• Judges will evaluate based on the four criteria: Theology, Melody, Creativity, and Clarity.
• Final scoring breakdown: Theology (50%) + Melody (25%) + Creativity (15%) + Clarity (10%).
• The evaluation will consider both the theological depth of the lyrics and the effectiveness of the musical composition.

3rd - 1,000
Winners will be announced on the same day of the live performance event. The winning performances will be featured in the school's official page.
