DevCom Students Convene For News Writing Mentoring Session
Equipping students with fundamental news writing skills and best practices, second- and third-year Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BSDC) students gathered for an intensive news writing lecture on September 14, 2026, at the New Library, Ifugao State University (IFSU) Lamut (Main) Campus.
Ms. Faith B. Napudo, University Extension Specialist II, served as the resource practitioner. During her discussion, Napudo emphasized the core principles of headline creation, the vital role of news writing in development communication, and the critical distinction between AI-generated and AI-assisted articles.
The mentoring session aimed to elevate the students' writing skills by offering practical techniques for crafting clear, accurate, and impactful stories for diverse audiences.
An interactive open forum followed, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions, clarify technical points, and gain deeper insights directly from Ms. Napudo.
Through the activity, the students gained valuable knowledge and skills that will support their academic work. //Dailyn Modne, BSDC 3rd Year
