Honor. Patriotism. Duty. ROTC aims to provide military education and training for students to mobilize them for national defense preparedness.

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) in the Philippines is one of three components of the National Service Training Program, the civic education and defense preparedness program for Filipino college students. Its specific objectives include preparation of college students for service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the event of an emergency and their training to become reservists and

potential commissioned officers of the AFP.

𝗜𝗙𝗦𝗨 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁𝘀' 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

On 01 August 2026, the Ifugao State University ROTC Unit successfully conducted its third training day at the Luis Hora Gymnasium, IFSU-Lamut Campus, Nayon, Lamut, Ifugao. The activity was conducted under the supervision of MAJ ROMEL T MALING (CE) PA, Commandant, Tsg Jayson M Laño, Chief Clerk, together with the Graduate Military Assistants (GMA) and the IFSU ROTC Unit cadet officers led by C/LTC RAVEN ACE G BUTANGON 1CL, Corps Commander.

The training formally started with a mass formation and attendance checking, ensuring discipline, accountability, and proper cadet bearing before the conduct of classroom instruction.

The first lecture focused on 𝗔𝗙𝗣 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗔 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, facilitated by 𝗠𝗔𝗝 𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗟 𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 (𝗖𝗘) 𝗣𝗔. The discussion covered the mandates, functions, command authority, and organizational structure of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine Army (PA). Through this lecture, cadets gained a deeper understanding of the military's roles, responsibilities, chain of command, and organizational framework, strengthening their knowledge of the institution they serve under as ROTC cadets.

Following a short break, the cadets attended the second lecture entitled 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝟭, delivered by 𝗧𝗦𝗴 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗠 𝗟𝗮𝗻̃𝗼 (𝗜𝗻𝗳) 𝗣𝗔. The lecture covered the basic principles of infantry operations, emphasizing the duties, responsibilities, and essential concepts that serve as the foundation of military field operations.

The activity concluded with the final checking of attendance, marking the successful completion of the third training day. Through continuous military instruction and values formation, the IFSU ROTC Unit remains committed to developing disciplined, competent, and service-oriented citizen-soldiers who are prepared to contribute to nation-building and community service.

𝗜𝗙𝗦𝗨 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁𝘀' 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Ifugao State University ROTC Unit successfully conducted another productive training day at the Convention Heritage Hall, IFSU–Nayon Campus, Lamut, Ifugao, under the supervision of TSg Fernando S Telan (Inf) PA, ROTC Division NCO. The activity aimed to strengthen the cadets’ understanding of military discipline, customs, and leadership through a series of informative lectures.

The training commenced with formation and attendance checking, followed by a lecture on "𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀" delivered by Pvt Aileen A Bolla PA (Res). The discussion emphasized the significance of military courtesy, discipline, respect, and proper conduct, highlighting that these traditions serve as the foundation of professionalism, unity, and esprit de corps within the Armed Forces.

The second lecture, titled "𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽", was delivered by Pvt Julian Claire S Cabudol PA (Res). The discussion underscored that effective leadership begins with responsible and disciplined followership. Cadets were encouraged to demonstrate loyalty, teamwork, accountability, and commitment in carrying out their duties, recognizing that every exceptional leader first learns to become a dependable follower.

The activity concluded with the cadets gaining valuable knowledge and a deeper appreciation of the core principles and values of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. Through continuous military instruction and values formation, the IFSU ROTC Unit remains steadfast in its commitment to developing disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented future reservists who are ready to serve the nation with honor and integrity.
