The College of Agriculture & Sustainable Development of Ifugao State University presents the newly elected officers of the Future Foresters, Agriculturists & Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (FFAEP-the Official Student Organization of IFSU-CASD) for Academic Year 2026-2027.

These student leaders from CASD were chosen to embody service, leadership, and excellence as they represent the future of agriculture, forestry, and entrepreneurship in the mother student organization of CASD which is the FFAEP Organization

Ifugao State University's College of Agriculture and Sustainable Development (IFSU-CASD) led by Dr. Napoleon K. Taguiling and the IFSU College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) led by Dr. Florence Nawew-Bahni have teamed up in conducting an ocular inspection to several certified and accredited farm tourism sites in nearby province of Nueva Vizcaya.

The team-up activity aims to assess and identify potential sites for instruction exposure venues and internship collaborations, research, and extension partnerships between the university and the farm tourism industry in the nearby province.
Deans, Program Chairpersons and OJT Coordinators from both colleges visited several Department of Tourism (DOT)-accredited farm tourism sites in Nueva Vizcaya. The team evaluated the farms’ facilities, students accommodation, farming practices, farm tourism activities, sustainability initiatives, and capacity to serve as learning and training grounds for IFSU BS Agriculture, Tourism, and Forestry students.

According to Dr. Napoleon K. Taguiling, dean of the College of Agriculture and Sustainable Development that the inspection initiative is part of IFSU’s commitment in strengthening experiential learning of students and community engagement. Through these partnerships, students from CASD and CAS will gain hands-on exposure to sustainable agriculture, agri-tourism operations, events management, and rural development programs.

This joint ocular inspection is a vital step in building stronger linkages with industry partners relevant to instruction and internship opportunities while also expanding our research and extension services to benefit local farming communities.

Key areas explored during the inspection include crop production systems, organic farming, farm management, eco-tourism activities, and value-adding enterprises. Both colleges are looking to integrate these sites into their curricula and internship programs starting next semester after a Memorandum of Agreement will be approved.

The visit also opened discussions on joint research projects focused on sustainable agriculture, rural tourism, and community-based development. Extension programs are also discussed aimed in supporting farm tourism agripreneurs in improving productivity and market.

The inspection team thank the following farms for extending their commitment and hospitality during the ocular inspection.

2. Mynion Homestead Farm owned by Ms. Marilyn Allaga Kimmayong at Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya
3. Humming Strawberry farms located at Amballo, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya
4. Green Oasis owned by Mr. John Danao at Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya
5. Nic & Jas Mulberry Farm owned by Ms. Elinda Paduyao-Danao at Dupax del Sur, Vizcaya
6. Rockwoods Eco-Tourism owned by Ms. Marie Curie de Pona at Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya
7. Courage Integrated Farm located at Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya
