Ifugao State University (IFSU), through the Department of Extension and Training (DET), successfully conducted its Agency In-House Review for completed extension projects on June 4, 2026. Held via online conference at the IFSU-CAE Defense Room, this event marked the official resumption of the institutional review, which had been on hiatus since 2021.

The review is a vital mechanism aligned with Goal 3 of the Universityโ€™s Strategic Plan: Sustainable Extension and Community Engagement. This goal underscores IFSUโ€™s commitment to packaging and transferring knowledge and technologies relevant to the needs of its clientele, aiming for a 95% client satisfaction rating.

A total of ten (10) completed extension projects were presented during the review, showcasing diverse initiatives aimed at community empowerment:
1. Adopt-A-Payoh: A Transformative Pathway to Cultural Preservation and Youth Leadership
2. Project Forensic Fusion Force (3F)
3. Carving the Future Series: A Woodcarving Training, Congress, and Multi-Media Carving Workshop
4. CLICK: (Capacity Development, Linkages and Networking, Innovation and Technology Transfer, Community Outreach, and Kabuyahan)
5. Project 3Rโ€™s (Reformation, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration): A Hospitality and Tourism Livelihood Project
6. DANG-AH: Hydroponics in the New Normal
7. Livelihood Program on Heirloom Rice Ice Cream Production
8. EdTech Resource Hub: Leveraging Learning Through Technology
9. Free Range Chicken Project
10. Project DANG-AH: Oyster Mushroom Production Using Rice Straw Substrates

In her Opening Remarks, Dr. Marissa P. Bulong, Vice President for Research Development, Training and Extension, emphasized that extension work goes far beyond mere service.

"Itโ€™s about impact, collaboration, and sustainability," Dr. Bulong noted, stressing that the review aims not only to showcase achievements but also to foster mutual learning and chart stronger pathways for community development.

Dr. Bulong further highlighted that these initiatives are foundations to building a widely shared organizational culture that encourages, promotes, and rewards extension and community engagementsโ€”with an institutional target of mobilizing 30% of faculty and 100% of students as volunteers annually.

Meanwhile, University President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, represented by Executive Assistant Atty. Leah Lagmay-Rosario, recognized the proponents' perseverance and commitment. She commended the presenters for turning these initiatives into reality, adding that the tangible results of these projects must be continuously felt and expanded.

Dr. Dugyon emphasized that through these completed projects, IFSU continues to establish, strengthen, and sustain active linkages with LGUs, industries, and other stakeholders for resource sharing and service complementation, moving steadily toward the Universityโ€™s target of increasing active partnerships by 20%.

The review concluded with the announcement of outstanding presentations evaluated by a distinguished external panel.

With the core belief that organizational resilience begins at the member level, Ifugao State University (IFSU) successfully wrapped up a three-day intensive workshop aimed at fortifying the financial capacities of local cooperatives.
Organized by the Department of Extension and Training Services (DET), the Training Workshop on Credit Assessment and Portfolio Management ran from May 13 to 15, 2026, at the IFSU Heritage Convention Hall.

Dean of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy at Kalinga State University, served as the primary resource expert. Drawing from her academic background and practical experience as a former Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Tabuk Farmers Multi-purpose Cooperative (TAFAMULCO), Dr. Dulliyao underscored the vital link between individual capacity and collective cooperative strength.

"Strong members come strong cooperatives," Dr. Dulliyao reminded the participants.

The workshop took a highly interactive, hands-on approach. Dr. Dulliyao facilitated a workshop segment where participating organizations presented their current organizational structures. This allowed for a deep-dive assessment of their day-to-day processes and procedures, with Dr. Dulliyao providing strategic inputs and recommendations to streamline their operations.
Key discussions also centered on vital financial literacy concepts tailored for cooperative growth, equipping the institutions with tools to better manage loan portfolios and credit risks.

The collaborative event brought together key representatives from the One Lamut Agricultural Cooperative, Kalanguya Community Cultural Multi-purpose Cooperative, Hojap Multi-purpose Cooperative, and the IFSU Employees and Communities Multi-purpose Cooperative.
