The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) continues to strengthen its position in global higher education, recording the highest participation rate among all regions in the Philippines in the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 – University Sustainability Rankings.

A total of 11 higher education institutions (HEIs) from the region earned places in this year’s rankings, representing 28.95% of all HEIs in CAR. This distinction underscores the region’s growing contribution to sustainable development through quality education, research, innovation, community engagement, and responsible institutional practices.

The 2026 results reflect the region’s strong performance and continuing upward trajectory:

📈 7 HEIs improved their ranking bands
📌 3 HEIs retained their positions
🆕 1 HEI entered the rankings for the first time

The results affirm the collective commitment of Cordilleran HEIs to advancing sustainability and creating meaningful impact within their communities and beyond. As institutions continue to align their programs, research, and initiatives with global development priorities, the Cordilleras further strengthens its reputation as a region that contributes to both local transformation and global progress.

CHED Cordillera congratulates all ranked institutions for this remarkable achievement and for bringing honor to the region through their sustained commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability.

June 9, 2026 will be remembered as a historic day for Ifugao State University. During a Special Board of Regents Meeting at the Commission on Higher Education, Dr. Freddie Bencio Caday was elected as the University's 3rd President.
