Hello, UP Cebu High School students!

This semester, we are opening our Peer Tutorial Program 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 (𝗦.𝗪.𝗘.𝗘.𝗧.) for you. The program has been offered before, but this is the first time that college‑level tutors will be guiding and supporting high school students. 🌻

Beyond course content, effective peer tutors need resilience in their own learning and in guiding others. True resilience requires competence, the skills and confidence to face challenges. Growth is not only about SWEET‑ness; SOUR‑ness provides the balance needed for holistic growth.

On August 19, 2026, TLRC peer tutors joined the SWEET and SOUR sessions for the First Semester AY 2026-2027. S.W.E.E.T. (Supporting Well‑being through Effective and Engaging Tutorials) welcomed tutors through the S.W.E.E.T. Spot Orientation. S.O.U.R. (Strengthening Opportunities, Unlocking Resilience) equipped them with tutoring skills, competencies, and mindset for tutoring college and UP High School students.

Asst. Prof. Sean L. Policarpio shared practical tips, while tutors practiced through role‑playing and critiquing. The next S.O.U.R. session will be on August 26, 2026, focusing on assessment strategies, essential learning skills, and strengthening resilience, with Asst. Prof. Jeraline E. Gumalal as facilitator.

𝙅𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚.

The College of Communication, Art and Design invites students, faculty, staff, researchers, community partners, and friends to the launching of the CCAD Permaculture Garden on August 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Located at the Sunset Garden, the open space behind Joya Gallery, the Permaculture Garden is envisioned as a living learning space where students and communities can explore food security, ecological restoration, local knowledge, climate adaptation, and collective care.

The first step in building this space is soil conditioning, which we will undertake with our invited guest, permaculturist Lee Hizola.

We are looking for individuals willing to accompany iskolars in their academic journey by Supporting Well-being through Effective and Engaging Tutorials (S.W.E.E.T.).

Please prepare the following:
*A copy of your grade(s) not lower than 2.0 in the subject(s) you wish to become a tutor of OR a recommendation form accomplished by a pertinent faculty member. For those who would like to tutor UPHS students, there is no grade requirement.

*A half-body photo for your Tutor Profile (If you do not wish to submit one, we will use the Oblation in place of your photo.)
