𝙉𝙚𝙬𝙨 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙡𝙚 | 𝗣𝗡𝗣 - 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸 𝗘𝘀𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹

𝗯𝘆: 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘇𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗬𝘂𝗸𝗶𝗼 𝗥. 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀

The Philippine National Police (PNP) - Labo successfully conducted a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) on Thursday, July 16, at the Talobatib High School Covered Court as part of the intensified implementation of Oplan Balik Eskwela.

The activity brought together school personnel, learners and partner agencies in a coordinated emergency preparedness exercise designed to strengthen the school's readiness in responding to various emergency situations. Through realistic simulation scenarios, participants were able to practice proper emergency response procedures and improve coordination among responding agencies.

The simulation also highlighted the importance of preparedness, teamwork and quick decision-making in ensuring the safety and security of the school community. Students and school personnel actively participated in the exercise, gaining valuable knowledge and hands-on experience that can help them respond effectively during actual emergencies.

The successful conduct of the SIMEX reaffirmed the commitment of the Philippine National Police - Labo and Talobatib High School to promoting a safe, prepared and resilient learning environment as the new school year begins under the Oplan Balik Eskwela program.

𝗔 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗢𝗳 𝗪𝗶𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺

Today, our hearts are heavy as we remember and honor a man who touched our lives in ways words can hardly explain. Sir Benito Quilas, lovingly known as Sir Benny the Pogi.

Sir Benny was more than just a teacher. He was a mentor, a friend, a comedian, and a guide. His charm and humor brought light into our classrooms and warmth into our hearts. Every joke he shared carried a lesson, every laugh he gave hid a deeper meaning, and every reminder came from a place of genuine care.

His famous line, “Wag pa tanga-tanga,” was more than just a simple scolding. It was a wake-up call, a reminder to think, to choose wisely, and to always strive to be better. Those words did not only stay in our memories, they became engraved in our souls. They shaped our mindset, strengthened our character, and guided us even beyond the classroom.

Sir Benny had a rare gift, the ability to teach life lessons disguised as humor. He made learning enjoyable, meaningful, and unforgettable. In every laugh we shared with him, there was comfort. In every story he told, there was wisdom. In every moment he spent with us, there was sincerity.

Though he may no longer walk beside us, his voice, his jokes, his lessons, and his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. His influence lives on in the lives he shaped, the minds he inspired, and the souls he touched.

Rest in peace, Sir Benny. Thank you for the laughter, the lessons, and the love. You will always be remembered, deeply missed, and forever cherished.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄

𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯
𝐁𝐲 𝐘𝐮𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧

A road accident involving a motorcycle and a tricycle occurred on January 12, 2026 between 4:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon, at the intersection in the center of Barangay Talobatib.

According to reports, the motorcycle was driven by a male individual who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The motorcycle collided with a tricycle at the intersection line in the centro area. The tricycle, driven by a man whose name was not disclosed, was carrying household belongings, his 28-year-old wife, and their child, on their way home to Santa Elena.

The impact caused the tricycle to overturn. The husband and wife were pinned under the vehicle, while their child remained inside. Nearby residents quickly assisted in lifting the tricycle, allowing the child to be safely removed without injuries.

The tricycle driver sustained bleeding from the mouth and a foot injury, but could still move. His wife suffered a head injury with a bump and a puncture wound on her left thigh after being hit by the tricycle’s license plate. The motorcycle driver also sustained a leg injury.

The scene was attended by responders led by Anavrin Izumie Yukio R. Bagtas, a student at Talobatib High School and a volunteer with the Red Cross, who helped ensure the victims received immediate assistance.
