"Project H.O.T.E.L. Post Training, Impact Review and Key Performance Evaluation"

The two-day monitoring and evaluation session for the extension initiative, Project H.O.T.E.L. (Honing Operational and Technical Expertise and Capabilities of Employees for Gender Management Longevity), was successfully conducted on June 8–9, 2026, at the Brentwood Apartelle. To measure training impact and ensure long-term sustainability, the evaluation team completed a comparative analysis of past pre- and post-tests, performed non-disruptive workplace observations, and gathered qualitative data through focus group discussions and key informant interviews with staff and management. All activities were seamlessly coordinated around hotel operations to avoid disruptions, and the project officially concluded with the successful handover of the Brentwood Apartelle Operational Manual to serve as their final reference guide.

The Department of Hospitality Management of Benguet State University successfully conducted the BSHM Practicum Culminating Activity under the supervision of the practicum coordinators- Sir Greg B. Landocan and Ma’am Florida A. Rosario on May 14, 2026 at the BSU Gladiola Center Hall, bringing together students, faculty members, industry partners, and guest speakers in a meaningful celebration of learning, growth, and professional achievement.

The program served as a culmination of the students’ internship journey, highlighting the valuable experiences, skills, and insights they gained from their On-the-Job Training in various hospitality establishments. Through inspirational messages, industry talks, reflections, and presentations, the event became a platform for students to appreciate the realities of the hospitality industry and recognize the importance of excellence, professionalism, resilience, and passion in their chosen field.

The activity was graced by distinguished resource speakers, Ms. Claudette Visaya, BSHM Alumna and Ms. La Trinidad Culture & Arts 2026, and Ms. Jacquelin M. Timola, Sales and Marketing Manager of Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts, who generously shared their knowledge, experiences, and words of encouragement to inspire future hospitality professionals.

One of the highlights of the event was the students’ heartfelt reflections and video presentations showcasing memorable moments, challenges, and achievements during their practicum experience across different hotel and hospitality sites. Special awards were also presented to recognize outstanding performance and dedication among the interns.

The Department of Hospitality Management extends its sincerest gratitude to all partner establishments, speakers, faculty members, and students who contributed to the success of this meaningful event. Proudly representing the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management program, our lone BSHM research group represented by Mr. Rimei Jay Garcia under the guidance of their thesis adviser, Dr. Dalifer A. Gano courageously competed in the 2026 CHET Student Research Congress held at the Function Hall, CHET Laboratory Building, Benguet State University last May 13, 2026.

Adding pride and honor to the BSHM program, the group was awarded 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 in the 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹-𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 for their research entitled, “The Role of Academic Competitions for Benguet State University Hospitality Management Students.”

Their achievement reflects their dedication, teamwork, critical thinking, and passion for research and academic excellence. Competing alongside talented student researchers from different programs, they showcased the capability of BSHM students to contribute meaningful and relevant studies in the field of education and hospitality.

7TH MANGAN TAKU COOKFEST 2026

Congratulations to our 3 BSHM Students who participated in the Mangan Taku Cookfest event held on April 24 at the Rose Garden forsecuring 4th place out of 10 competitors, with 4 participants from the academy and 5 from the industry.

The team received a cash prize of ₱6000 for their dish, Highland Embers, which earned average score of 89.5%.😇Job well done our dear students👊🤛👏👏

Extending our heartfelt appreciation for graciously hosting us during our recent tour immersion at Manila-Pampanga on March 23-27 for our BSHM 3rd Year Students.The experience was invaluable, and we are grateful for the insights and knowledge shared with us.
