The Cordillera Regional Science High School (CRSHS) students invented a segregating machine aimed at enhancing recycling and addressing local waste concerns.
During the presentation of the proposed solution to the local government unit of La Trinidad on February 26, students identified improper waste management as one of the pressing local issues that needs to be addressed. The proponents demonstrated their commitment to academic excellence and commitment to social responsibility.
The students who presented solution to improper waste management in the community through a science and technology-based innovation were Jelsea Bangtuan, Jirah Diclas, Jewel Faja, Justin Laoyan, Jhelian Leoncio, Rowyne Lubante, Kalel Pangaliman, Zhoey Ofo-ob, and Charlet Sunglao, proposed a . Meanwhile their adviser, Cherry L. Lumidao, supported the students in their presentation as this form part of their subject requirements and curriculum implementation of the Strengthened Senior High School curriculum under the Pag-aaral at Kasaysayan ng Lipunang Pilipino.

Advanced technological education is set to take a major leap at Cordillera Regional Science High School (CRSHS) with the signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the Robotics and Science Laboratory Upgrade initiative. The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology โ€” Cordillera Administrative Region (DOSTโ€“ CAR) in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) and CRSHS, during the second semester engagement of the Benguet Provincial Science, Technology and Innovation Coordinating Committee (Benguet-PSTICC) at Inglay Restaurant held on December 2.

Among those who signed the MOA is Assistant School Principal II Wilber Gondales for CRSHS witness by Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID-Benguet) Aladin Dobinto, Science Education Program Supervisor Merlyn Conchita De Guzman and Head Teacher III Joan Palpeg. The initiative aims to boost science and technology education, marking strengthened efforts to advance STEM education by providing new equipment, robotics kits, and capacity-building support for teachers and students.
The upgraded laboratory will further foster studentsโ€™ interests in technology and innovation โ€” aligning with the countryโ€™s goal for broader technological development, especially within provincial areas.

The event featured the launching of two projects: the Information System for Management and Utilization of Land and Agri-data (iMULA) and the LGU-Atok Procurement Information System. The iMULA platform is a centralized database for land and agricultural information, enabling farmers to report concerns; helping LGUs monitor issues and make data-driven decisions. While the LGU-Atok Procurement Information System will digitize procurement processes, replacing manual procedures to improve efficiency and minimize operational delays within the LGU.

Municipal Science and Technology coordinators from 10 LGUs were also recognized during the event for their support in launching 74 DOST projects from 2013-2025.

Briefings and queries were also addressed during the press conference section of the event with the Philippine Information Agency โ€” Cordillera Administrative Region (PIA-CAR) serving as the host. Provincial S&T Director Dr. Sheila Marie B. Singa-Claver, Vice Chairperson of PSTICC-Benguet Lady Charmaine Molintas, Municipal Agriculturist of LGU-Atok Cherry Sano, LGU-La Trinidad Nida Organo, and Assistant School Principal II Wilber Gondales served as the press conference panelists.

Among the topics discussed during the press conference were the planned implementation of the projects, including their expected outputs and outcomes.
