Benguet State University successfully conducted the Advanced Studies (AdS) General Orientation for Academic Year 2025โ2026 on September 6, 2025, at the BSU Gymnasium. The orientation aimed to equip both new and continuing graduate students with essential information on university services, academic policies, and research procedures as they begin their journey in higher education. University President Dr. Kenneth P. Laruan officially opened the program with a message highlighting the importance of the orientation in fostering academic excellence, holistic growth, and student well-being. Students were then introduced to essential university services.
Presentations were delivered by Mr. Lauren P. Kipaan (Library and Information Services), Dr. Julie A. Buasen (Registrar Services), Dr. Florence V. Poltic (Health Services), and Dr. Erlyn Honeylette C. Marquez (Student Services). The orientation also highlighted research-related discussions. Dr. Russell B. Dolendo presented the thesis formatting guidelines, while Dr. Imelda G. Parcasio discussed the thesis and dissertation publication process and facilitated the Gender and Development (GAD) Orientation.
Dr. Roscinto C. Lumbres gave a comprehensive lecture on research journal publication, and Dr. Pelin B. Be**no provided insights on research ethics. An open forum allowed students to voice questions and concerns directly to university officials, ensuring clarity and meaningful dialogue. The program concluded with the closing remarks of Dr. Janet P. Pablo, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who encouraged graduate students to maximize BSUโs resources and remain actively engaged in their academic and research endeavors.//JMLayagan
