CLASSES, GOV'T WORK SUSPENDED HALF-DAY ON OCT. 31 | MalacaΓ±ang has announced the suspension of classes at all levels and government work nationwide on Thursday, October 31, 2024, starting at 12 PM. This is to allow the public ample time to observe All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day traditions.

| Due to the continuing threat posed by Tropical Storm Kristine with Benguet now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3, Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas issued an executive order suspending classes in all levels and work in all government institutions in the province of Benguet tomorrow, October 24, 2024.
The suspension issued by virtue of this Order shall not be applicable to government offices involved in the maintenance of peace and order, disaster risk management, hospitals, health and sanitation, and traffic management.
The respective Local Chief Executives and Heads of Offices of goverment agencies and institutions may also direct specific employees to report to work to perform urgent and necessary responsibilities.
Local govemment units (LGUs), offices of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Social Welfare and Development, Engineering, Health, hospitals, and other institutions providing essential public utility services are instructed to be on full alert before, during, and after the said weather disturbance. They shall respond to all contingencies and address any event which may transpire due to the inclement weather.
Private offices and institutions are likewise encouraged to suspend work in their respective offices and institutions.

In view of the inclement weather brought about by Tropical Storm βKristineβ affecting the whole country, particularly the Island of Luzon, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Luzon are hereby suspended on 23 October 2024.
However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

The BSU Canteen on the Benguet State campus has consistently provided reliable food services for numerous events organized by various offices. Academic conferences and departmental meetings receive high-quality food and outstanding service from the canteen.
Recently, the canteen provided catering services for notable events, including the 14th Joint Regional Symposium on RDE Highlights and the 7th Regional Student Research Congress, which took place from October 14 to 17, 2024. With the help of 72 students from the Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management program at the College of Home Economics and Technology (CHET), through careful planning and a varied menu that accommodates different dietary preferences, the BSU Canteen guaranteed that all attendees had a satisfying dining experience.
The canteen team collaborates with event organizers to tailor menus that meet the unique requirements of each event. The adaptability and commitment demonstrated by the BSU Canteen have established it as a favored option for catering, playing a significant role in the success of events that promote collaboration and community involvement.
Through the procurement of fresh ingredients and adherence to high standards, the BSU Canteen significantly contributes to the enhancement of the overall experience at university events.
