𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗟𝗔𝗪 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟? 𝗕𝗔𝗥?

𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥, sure ka na ba?

In a relationship, you must agree on the reality of the situation immediately.

Law school teaches you to be skeptical, analytical, and prone to arguing both sides of a pancake.

𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭.

If you let it, every dinner conversation will revolve around the Rule Against Perpetuities or that one classmate who talks too much in Torts.

Law school is often described as a 𝐣𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬.

There will be missed dates, cancelled plans due to emergency readings, and periods of extreme stress (especially during midterms and finals).

Sit down and explicitly discuss the 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞.

If you are the partner, understand that their unavailability is not a lack of affection, but a requirement for survival in the program.

Just as no one should be condemned without being heard, no relationship issue should fester without communication.

In law school, if it isn't on the calendar, it doesn't exist. Your partner shouldn't have to "guess" when they might see you.

𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 out your study sessions and classes, but also block out "Date Night" as a non-negotiable appointment.

Law students become very self-centered by necessity. Your world shrinks to the size of a library carrel.

You may not have the quantity of time you used to have. You must focus on quality. A focused 30-minute dinner without phones is better than 4 hours together where the law student is mentally reciting Article 1156 of the Civil Code.

If the partner is supportive, 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 can work, provided the non-law student respects the silence required for digesting jurisprudence.

The ultimate goal is the Bar. This should be viewed as a shared goal, not an individual burden.

Use small "micro-gestures." A text during a 10-minute lecture break saying, "I appreciate you handling dinner tonight," goes further than an expensive gift after finals are over.

Don't "𝐰𝐢𝐧" the argument at the cost of the relationship.

In court, there’s a winner and a loser. In a relationship, if your partner loses, you lose too.

𝚂𝚞𝚛𝚟𝚒𝚟𝚊𝚕 𝚛𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚜 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚢.

If you treat your relationship as a "𝐡𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐲" that you'll get back to after the Bar Exam, it won't be there when you finish.

If you treat it as a core priority, your partner will be the one cheering the loudest when you finally walk across that stage.

The practice of law is a profession, a form of public trust, the performance of which is entrusted to those who are qualified and who possess good moral character.

The husband and wife are obliged to live together, observe mutual love, respect and fidelity, and render mutual help and support.
