On October 28, 2024, we concluded National Mental Health Month with immense gratitude and pride for our entire school community.

Throughout the month, students and staff participated in a variety of activitiesโ€”such as a Photo Booth, Chalk Art, Freedom Wall, and Live Bandโ€”as well as interactive stations, including Brochure, Self-Affirmation, and โ€œShare a Quoteโ€ areas. Each of these activities was designed to raise awareness, foster understanding, build resilience, encourage openness about mental health, and break the stigma surrounding it. These initiatives aimed to create a supportive and compassionate environment for our students.

In addition to these activities, we organized contests for different grade levels, with certificates and prizes awarded during the culmination event:

โ€ข Grade 7: Poster-making contest themed โ€œMangagait Tako; Magay Natnatken, Mansisinakit Tako,โ€ won by Stefano B. Monongyao of 7A
โ€ข Grade 8: Slogan-making contest focused on โ€œHow to Promote a Safe/Friendly Environment,โ€ won by Shantal F. Mangsi of 8D
โ€ข Grade 9: Poem-making contest centered on โ€œBenefits of Seeking Help,โ€ won by Rhea May D. Almodiel of 9A
โ€ข Grade 10: Essay-writing contest on the โ€œImportance of Self-Care,โ€ won by Robert B. Cortez Jr. of 10B
โ€ข Senior High School: Jingle-making contest, won by the group of Yorvit Del-isen, Shemaria Andaya, Ian Jhyn Buyacao, Junifer Kilas, and Vince Tuacan

We are incredibly proud of the positive steps our school community has taken toward mental wellness. October has been a remarkable journey of learning, growth, and support for mental health and wellness.

Thank you to our school stakeholders and everyone who helped make this month a success. Although National Mental Health Month has ended, our commitment to mental wellness remains strong. Letโ€™s continue to support one another, encourage open conversations, and remember that mental health matters every day. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™

Mental Health Myths and Misconceptions: DEBUNKED.

Enough stigmas. It's time to listen and accept the facts.

Mental health problems are REAL. No, it is not a figment of our wild thoughts and imaginations. It is not switch that we can conveniently turn on and off whenever we want to. And it is DEFINITELY NOT something that we should ignore and push aside for the sake of maintaining our safety bubble. Optimism can only do so much, but taking action and seeking support can pave the way to true healing and growth.
