Brave Filipino soldiers fought against the Japanese invasion eight decades ago, not only for Benguet but also for the future we now call normal. We are free to live, dream, and walk in peace because of their sacrifice. These days, we remember them as actual people whose bravery continues to influence who we are.

๐Ÿ”ฅHELLโ€™S KITCHEN: SCOUTS EDITION ~๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿ

Cdt. Girl Scouts Frejine Kiray, Rhealyn Tangad, Joan Albin, and Kyriz Menzi, along with Sr. Girl Scouts Aquere Depnag and Gervilline Lamsis, turned up the heat at the SUSTANSHARAP event held at Baley ni Girl Scout, KM. 5 on July 15, 2025, in celebration of Nutrition Month.

Armed with camote as their secret weapon, the scouts cooked up a stormโ€”blending creativity, culinary finesse, and artistic flair to whip up a healthy, delicious meal that sought a balance between fitness and taste; and crafted up the Camote Turon, paired up with Barako as the beverage.

Their hard work paid off as they clinched 1st place in the Senior/Cadet cooking competition, taking home a cash prize and school supplies during the awarding ceremony. The event also saw participation from La Trinidad National High School, Benguet National High School, and Puguis National High School. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽ‰

Steps for a Better Tomorrow: GSP Hiking

Today, October 12, 2024, the CRSHS Girl Scouts took a hiking challenge from the entrance of Mt. Yangbew to the top of the mountain. Upon arrival, the scouts took a 5-minute rest and wondered at the breathtaking beauty surrounding them. After a while, the fun activities kicked off, with the GSP's supportive troop leader, Tita Shyma May Mabli, joining in on the excitement.

The fun challenges included "Pose the Picture" challenge, where scouts struck creative poses against the stunning backdrop, a multi-drawer challenge that tested their creativity and artistic skills as a team, a thrilling coin relay that emphasized speed and coordination, a challenging rope relay that required teamwork and strategy, and a balloon relay race that added excitement to the dayโ€™s adventures.

Each activity encouraged camaraderie, sportsmanship, and communication among the scouts, making the hiking experience not just a physical challenge, but a delightful opportunity for personal growth and bonding as the scouts connect to nature. Together, the scouts embraced the philosophy of stepping up for a better tomorrow!

๐Ÿ“– ONCE UPON A TIMEโ€ฆ ๐ŸŽ

In celebration of GSP Week, last September 28, 2024, the English Club teamed up with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) for a collaborative storytelling event that aimed to inspire a love for reading and promote literacy among the local communityโ€™s children. This meaningful activity brought together members of both organizations to engage with young minds through the power of storytelling, fostering creativity and curiosity in an exciting and interactive way.

Throughout the event, English Club and GSP members captivated the children with tales that ranged from timeless classics to imaginative new stories. With enthusiasm and creativity, they used expressive voices and animated gestures to bring the stories to life โ€” making the experience both educational and enjoyable for the kids. Each session encouraged participation, allowing the children to ask questions, share their thoughts, and even act out scenes, reinforcing the importance of imagination and the joy of learning.

This collaborative effort highlighted the role that literacy plays in empowering young minds, as well as the importance of community involvement in fostering a culture of learning. The event was not just about reading โ€” it was about creating connections, building confidence in young learners, and showing them the magic that exists within the pages of a book.

Together, we can continue to inspire a brighter, more literate future! ๐ŸŒŸ
