A Day of Leadership and Public Service! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญโšœ๏ธ

Kier James C. Segundo, assigned at the International Language Center (ILC) of Benguet State University, will serve as SOFAD ILC Director during the Scout Officials-for-a-Day.

This initiative of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Benguet Council aims to promote leadership, responsibility, and public service among the youth.

After two weeks of learning, exploring, and engaging with the Benguet State University community, delegates from Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), Japan, concluded their socio-cultural and language immersion program through a closing activity focused on sharing their experiences and reflections.

The delegates shared how their first impressions of Benguet, BSU, and the local community changed throughout their stay, along with the lessons and discoveries they gained. They also expressed their appreciation to those who welcomed and guided them, and their continued interest in improving their English language skills.

The program formally concluded with the awarding of certificates, followed by a farewell dinner with College of Arts and Humanities students and staff from the International Relations Office and International Language Center.

The socio-cultural and language immersion of the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), Japan delegates continued with a two-day classroom immersion at Benguet State University, where they interacted with college students taking Purposive Communication, Translation, and Foreign Language subjects.

As part of the activity, the delegates shared aspects of Japanese culture and traditions, giving BSU students an opportunity to learn more about Japan through direct interaction with the delegates.

They also introduced basic Japanese vocabulary and grammar, which the students could use as an introduction to the Japanese language and its everyday expressions.

Through the classroom activities, the Kyutech delegates and BSU students shared knowledge and experiences while strengthening their understanding of each otherโ€™s language and culture.
