๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrating Excellence in Research and Statistics! ๐ŸŽ‰
Congratulations to Rhiofa M. Bucagan, a graduating Bachelor of Science in Statistics student, for garnering 3rd Place in the Research Poster Competition (Student Category) during the 14th Regional Health Research Conference organized by the Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (CRHRDC), held at the Benguet State University, La Trinidad Gymnasium on June 18โ€“19, 2026.

Her award-winning study, "Predictors of Survival Time of Breast Cancer Patients in Baguio," reflects not only her passion for breast cancer research but also the power of statistics in addressing real-world health issues.

By applying advanced statistical methods, her research identified important factors affecting the survival of breast cancer patients, providing valuable insights that can support better healthcare decisions and patient outcomes.

This achievement shows how statistics can go beyond numbers and become a tool for understanding, innovation, and saving lives. Truly, her work embodies the conference theme: "Binnadang for Health: Bridging Communities through Research, Collaboration, Innovation, and Care."

Congratulations once again on this well-deserved recognition! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ“Š๐ŸŽ€

๐ŸŒˆ Did you know?

According to Statista Consumer Insights' 2025 survey across 31 countries, about 7% of adults worldwide identify as LGBT+. Among the surveyed countries, the Philippines recorded the highest percentage at 11%, followed closely by the United States and Thailand at 10%.

These figures may not necessarily mean that more people are becoming LGBT. Rather, they may reflect a society where more individuals feel safe and accepted enough to openly express who they truly are.

This idea is supported by Minority Stress Theory proposed by Meyer (2003), which explains how stigma and discrimination negatively affect LGBT individuals. As societies become more accepting and inclusive, people may feel less fear of rejection and more freedom to live authentically.

Regardless of our beliefs or backgrounds, every person deserves dignity and respect. LGBT individuals, like everyone else, have dreams, feelings, and aspirations.

Let us choose kindness over discrimination and understanding over stigma. After all, respect begets respect. ๐ŸŒˆโค๏ธ

Finally! Our 2nd semester final exams start tomorrow. Itโ€™s the last academic hurdle before vacation officially begins.

After this, we get to reclaim our time โ€” to play without guilt, sleep without setting 5 alarms, relax without a module waiting. To just _breathe_ and be students on break, not students on deadline.

But freedom tastes better when itโ€™s earned. So for tonight and tomorrow: REVIEW what you can, SLEEP EARLY even if your notes are screaming at you, and PRAY for clarity, calm, and recall.

To every student out there: We're wishing you focus, good memory, and peace of mind. Letโ€™s all pass, letโ€™s all make it. See you next school year for another round.

Good luck everyone. Letโ€™s finish strong โœ๏ธ
