According to Statista Consumer Insights' 2025 survey across 31 countries, about 7% of adults worldwide identify as LGBT+. Among the surveyed countries, the Philippines recorded the highest percentage at 11%, followed closely by the United States and Thailand at 10%.

These figures may not necessarily mean that more people are becoming LGBT. Rather, they may reflect a society where more individuals feel safe and accepted enough to openly express who they truly are.

This idea is supported by Minority Stress Theory proposed by Meyer (2003), which explains how stigma and discrimination negatively affect LGBT individuals. As societies become more accepting and inclusive, people may feel less fear of rejection and more freedom to live authentically.

Regardless of our beliefs or backgrounds, every person deserves dignity and respect. LGBT individuals, like everyone else, have dreams, feelings, and aspirations.

Finally! Our 2nd semester final exams start tomorrow. It’s the last academic hurdle before vacation officially begins.

After this, we get to reclaim our time — to play without guilt, sleep without setting 5 alarms, relax without a module waiting. To just _breathe_ and be students on break, not students on deadline.

But freedom tastes better when it’s earned. So for tonight and tomorrow: REVIEW what you can, SLEEP EARLY even if your notes are screaming at you, and PRAY for clarity, calm, and recall.

The 1st Significance Rite of Samahang Statistika was successfully held on April 25, 2026 at CASAN Quadrangle in Benguet State University to honor the perseverance and commitment of Statistics students, particularly the fourth-year batch. The program opened with a doxology, followed by remarks recognizing the resilience of the graduating students by the Officer-in-Charge Chairperson, Ms. Marycel Sajise. Intermission performances from various year levels added vibrance to the event, while an inspirational message by Mr. Dexter Samidan reflected on the doubts faced by students and emphasized the significance of Statistics in representing real individuals and communities. A testimonial from the top fourth-year student, Ms. Fiona Salazar, highlighted the batch’s journey and growth.

A solemn candle-lighting ceremony symbolized the transfer of knowledge across year levels, followed by the Oath of Professional Ethics, administered by Mr. Conley Celoy, Vice President of the organization, affirming the students’ commitment to competence, integrity, and responsibility. An inspirational address from the College Dean, Dr. Ederson Bawang, about embodying resilience, like a persisting, surviving goldfish left in an office until making its presence known. He iterated this in a saying “Just keep splashing.” The program concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Han Bonoy, the adviser of the Samahang Statistika, expressing gratitude and synthesizing the day’s key messages.

In the afternoon, the 4PSS program served as a farewell tribute to the fourth-year students. It featured student introductions with their personal reflections, followed by acknowledging of exemplary organization members who represented SS in various competitions and demonstrated diverse skills and talents. Then, interactive games were facilitated by different year levels that fostered camaraderie and engagement.

Thereafter, Ms. Fiona Garcia, SS President, formally presented incoming officers and the symbolic turnover ceremony highlighted the transition of leadership, with messages emphasizing responsibility and commitment. The fourth-year students also shared words of guidance, encouraging unity, perseverance, and practical strategies for academic success. The event concluded with messages from Ms. Freda Samuel, Associate Dean and College Secretary, congratulating and encouraging both graduating and continuing students.

We are pleased to officially announce the results of the recently concluded election for the upcoming officers of Samahang Statistika for S.Y. 2026–2027.

We extend our sincere congratulations to all candidates who participated in this democratic exercise, and we commend the newly elected officers for their commitment to serve the organization and its members.

In assuming office, these newly elected leaders solemnly commit to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct befitting officers of Samahang Statistika. They are entrusted with the responsibility to lead with unity, foster cooperation, and strengthen camaraderie among all members of the organization.

Guided by the organization's core values, the duly elected officers pledge to place the interests of Samahang Statistika above personal considerations, to faithfully advance its mission and vision, and to champion the holistic development of its members. They will nurture the will of becoming an exemplary statisticians and students whose contributions extend beyond statistical measures and create meaningful impact in society.

We call upon the entire Samahang Statistika community to extend its full support and cooperation to the new administration as we embark on another year of excellence, service, and statistical leadership.

On April 16, 2026 , the Statistical Design Consultation on Experimental Design and Analysis organized by Samahang Statistika brought together passionate college student researchers, particularly the Phytopathological Society of the College of Agriculture, to bridge theory and real-world application which happened in Benguet State University.

Through this initiative, participants were guided in crafting well-structured experimental designs and selecting appropriate methods such as CRD and RCBD—ensuring their studies are both accurate and impactful.

From understanding proper data analysis to developing their own research methodologies, this activity highlighted the vital role of statistics in shaping credible and meaningful research.

As we continue to promote a culture of research excellence, we empower students to confidently apply statistical tools in their respective fields and inspire future statisticians in the community.

📄The Samahang Statistika Financial Report for the First Semester is hereby presented. This document is designed to provide the members and other interested parties, with a comprehensive overview and transparent disclosure of the organization's financial position and operational performance during the specified period. Its purpose is to furnish pertinent information in an appropriately detailed manner, thereby enhancing the credibility of the organization's management and fostering trust among its constituents.

Meet the founder of modern nursing👩‍⚕️! The College of Social Sciences - Student Government, in collaboration with Samahang Statistika and Nursing Association of Responsible Students will conduct an exhibit about the innovations of Florence Nightingale entitled "The Lady with the Lamp: Lighting the Path for Leadership and Care"

The exhibit will showcase Florence Nightingale’s life illustrating how she navigated 19th-century societal constraints, how she utilize statistics and "the power of observation" in patient care, and honor the contributions of contemporary nurses by connecting their modern practice to Nightingale’s foundational principles.
