Gatas, karne, balat, at walang kapantay na lakas sa bukid—ilan lamang ito sa mahahalagang ambag ng ating mga kalabaw sa bansa. Kaya naman ngayong International Working Animal Day, ating kilalanin at bigyang-pugay ang kanilang natatanging papel sa pagsusulong ng agrikultura at kabuhayan ng mga Pilipino.

​Sa loob ng maraming henerasyon, sila ang naging tapat na katuwang ng bawat magsasakang Pilipino sa pagtataguyod ng kabuhayan. Mula sa pag-aararo hanggang sa pagiging katuwang sa pagnenegosyo ng gatas at karne, hinding-hindi matatawaran ang kanilang ambag.
