We’re proud to share the very first cage-free egg farm in Benguet, an exciting step toward better animal welfare and more humane egg production in the Cordillera!

DAS Hen Haven, a product of the research partnership between Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) and Benguet State University, working together to develop cage-free egg production approaches suited to local conditions.

And now, we need your help to bring cage-free eggs closer to consumers in Baguio!

DONATION DRIVE: EGGcellent Care: Free egg distribution for BSU students in need.

Organized by the Society of Animal Science Students (SASS)

In light of the recent typhoon that has affected the lives of many, we are coming together in the spirit of care and community service.

On August 12, 2026, from 8:00 AM onwards in front of the College of Agriculture, BSU students affected by the calamity are entitled to receive six pieces of fresh eggs each. This will be on first-come first-served basis. Until supplies last.

This initiative is lovingly brought to us by Department of Animal Science(DAS) Hen Haven under the project "Performance and Behavioral Responses of Layers Raised Under Cage and Cage-free Rearing Systems" funded by the the Animal Kingdom Foundation. Their kindness reminds us that even in difficult times, compassion and solidarity can bring hope and nourishment to those who need it most.

Eggs may be simple, but they symbolize strength, renewal, and the promise of brighter days ahead. Through this donation drive, we are reminded that small acts of generosity can make a big difference in rebuilding lives and lifting spirits.

One week post-grad, and we're still serving moments worth posting.

Here's the individual graduation portraits of Animal Science majors during the BSU 101st Commencement Exercises held on June 25, 2026. Because one graduation post was never enough. 📸✨

The classrooms will eventually belong to another batch. The laboratories will welcome unfamiliar faces. Someone else will occupy the seats we once called ours. Life has a quiet way of moving forward.

And yet, before all of that happens; before we become stories people tell, photographs tucked inside albums, names written in graduation programs, and memories that grow more beautiful with time, I hope we would always remember the people who helped us get here.

To the Department of Animal Science, thank you for opening your doors to students who arrived with uncertainty and allowing us to leave carrying purpose. Thank you for shaping not only future animal scientists, but people who learned that knowledge means little if it is not matched with humility, compassion, and service.

𝙈𝙪𝙡𝙞, 𝙩𝙖𝙤𝙨-𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙞 𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙥𝙪𝙥𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝘼𝙣𝙎𝙘𝙞 𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 2026!!🥳✨

Of all the years we could have been born, of all the universities we could have entered, and of all the paths we could have taken, life somehow insisted that our stories would cross here. And I think that's a coincidence we'll spend the rest of our lives being grateful for.

Soon, life will pull us toward different farms, laboratories, classrooms, offices, communities, and dreams. Our paths may no longer look the same, and our destinations may take us farther than we ever imagined. We may grow in different directions, but I hope never apart at heart

Because no matter where life takes us next, a part of who we become will always belong to the place, and to the people, that first taught us how to grow. 🌱✨

Gatas, karne, balat, at walang kapantay na lakas sa bukid—ilan lamang ito sa mahahalagang ambag ng ating mga kalabaw sa bansa. Kaya naman ngayong International Working Animal Day, ating kilalanin at bigyang-pugay ang kanilang natatanging papel sa pagsusulong ng agrikultura at kabuhayan ng mga Pilipino.

​Sa loob ng maraming henerasyon, sila ang naging tapat na katuwang ng bawat magsasakang Pilipino sa pagtataguyod ng kabuhayan. Mula sa pag-aararo hanggang sa pagiging katuwang sa pagnenegosyo ng gatas at karne, hinding-hindi matatawaran ang kanilang ambag.

​Isang taos-pusong saludo sa bawat kalabaw at sa ating mga masisipag na carapreneurs na patuloy na nagtataguyod ng kaunlaran sa kanayunan! 🐃🥛🥩
