BENGUET CADET EMERGES AS LONE CORDILLERAN CUM LAUDE OF PMA SIKLAB-LAYA CLASS OF 2025

BAGUIO CITY — A cadet from Benguet stood out among the graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) SIKLAB-LAYA Class of 2025, earning academic distinction as the only Cordilleran Cum Laude in the batch.

Second Lieutenant Kint Poltic Pinas formally graduated during commencement exercises held at Borromeo Field inside Fort Gregorio H. del Pilar, with Ferdinand Marcos Jr. serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Pinas, an I-Benguet from La Trinidad, completed his basic education at La Trinidad Central School and later graduated from Cordillera Regional Science High School (CRSHS). He was also a member of the CRSHS Glee Club, which earned multiple gold awards in the Bali International Choir Festival 2019.

Before entering the PMA, he studied at Benguet State University under the College of Information Sciences.

He is the eldest child of Efren Luma-ang Pinas and Melina Poltic Pinas, with roots in Kapangan and Buguias.

His achievement highlights a rare academic distinction for a Cordilleran cadet in the country’s premier military academy, bringing pride to Benguet and the Cordillera region.
