ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOV'T OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 20

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on AUGUST 20, 2026:

📍 Pangasinan
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Pampanga

📍 Batangas
📍 Cavite
📍 Laguna
📍 Rizal
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes and learning continuity measures at ALL LEVELS in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Due to the continuous inclement weather, face-to-face classes in all levels, public and private, are suspended on Wednesday, August 19. Schools will implement appropriate alternative learning modalities to ensure learning continues. Stay safe, everyone! 🌧️💙

. Pursuant to the directive of Office of the President through Memorandum Circular No. 129 and due to the continuous inclement weather, Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas said that face-to-face classes in all levels, both public and private, are still suspended on Wednesday, August 19.

Schools are encouraged to implement appropriate alternative learning modalities and other learning continuity measures, as may be feasible, to ensure that learning activities continue while face-to-face classes are suspended.

Our school joined in the 2026 Private Schools’ Convergence held on August 14, 2026, at the SDO Adivay Hall, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Organized by the Schools Division of Benguet in partnership with the Benguet Private Schools Association (BPSA), the activity brought together private school administrators and education leaders to discuss important updates, share best practices, and strengthen partnerships in support of quality education.

The convergence served as a valuable platform for dialogue, collaboration, and coordination among educational institutions, reaffirming the shared commitment of both public and private education stakeholders to the holistic development and success of learners across Benguet.

Face-to-face classes from Preschool to Senior High School in both public and private schools are suspended in La Trinidad due to continuous rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon.

Please stay at home, keep safe, and avoid unnecessary travel. Students are reminded to refrain from loitering in public places.

𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗞: 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟

Mayor Roderick Awingan suspends face-to-face classes from preschool to Senior High School for both public and private educational institutions on August 18, 2026 (Tuesday), as the prevailing weather systems continue to bring light to moderate to heavy, and at times intense rains over the municipality, necessitating the suspension of classes to preempt any untoward incidents that may endanger the students.

Based on the issued Weather Advisory No. 63 of PAGASA, the Province of Benguet is forecasted to experience 100 to 200 mm of rainfall due to the Southwest Monsoon today to tomorrow noon (August 18, 2026), which may cause localized flooding and landslides in moderate to highly susceptible areas.

Prohibition of Loitering. In accordance with Municipal Ordinance No. 13-2012 (Juvenile Welfare Ordinance of La Trinidad) and existing municipal anti-truancy regulations, upon the declaration of class suspension, students are not allowed to stay, loiter, or congregate in business establishments or commercial establishments, including but not limited to internet cafes, billiard halls, parks, and other recreational centers.

To ensure the safety of the students from the hazards of the Southwest Monsoon, owners and managers of business establishments are directed to refuse entry for leisure and advise students to return to their respective residences. The La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, alongside all Barangay DRRMCs, are tasked to strictly monitor and enforce this directive.

The Province of Benguet is forecasted to experience continued inclement weather and is expected to receive 50 to 100 mm of rainfall due to Southwest Monsoon today to tomorrow noon (August 17, 2026), which may cause localized flooding and landslide in highly susceptible areas;

The Municipality of La Trinidad recorded a cumulative rainfall amount of 140 mm today, August 16, 2026, from 8:00AM to 7:00PM.

Within that period, specifically from 2:00PM to 3:00PM, the municipality recorded an intense rainfall volume of 50 mm, which subsequently caused flooding across the valley

The two-day First Aid Training successfully concluded, bringing together the Supreme Student Council (SSC) and Class Infirmarians for an engaging and hands-on learning experience facilitated by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – La Trinidad.

Participants learned essential skills in Basic Life Support (BLS), bandaging, wound care, and proper emergency response through demonstrations and practical activities.
